I have recently just bought an S2 rallye indigo blue, and am curios as to why it has the black trims along the doors???? are these put on as an option??
Because my friend also owns an s2 and his do not have them on, neither does any body elses rallye i have seen!!!
Also are these easy to remove or will i have to do any filling etc??
Cheers j

There was a Rallye for sale on here a few months ago with black rubbing strips and fogs. It was definitely a Rallye though - only a 8v lump and Rallye interior.
The rub-strips will be attached using the usual Peugeot/Citroen shit clips, so yes you'd have to have them filled. Might be cheaper to get them painted indigo blue? and fit the Rallye 3 stripes a little lower down the door then standard?
think they were an optional extra, or maybe put on afterwards?
Suppose you could be luckyish and they may be stuck on?? The rallye door after all has no holes to mount them. Get the door trim off and have a look see if the skin has been drilled?

wouldnt the lack of a gti engine be a bit of a giveaway?, blue dials, seats, rallye badge on the dash, full doorcards, different carpet etc?

Its definately a rallye, it has the rallye seats, rallye badge on dash, full door cards, blue carpet, blue dials, im sure i remember reading somewhere that you could have them put on as an option when bought from new!!! bloody things.... i have also had a look at them and there has been holes made in the doors to put them on, but will a garage be able to sort them out easily?? ie filling spraying etc....?
btw any of you guys go to the french car show yesterday???? i did! got sunstroke!!! lol

Alrite J, don't know if you noticed my series 2 silver 'replica' on the stand at the french car show, but it started off life as a zest 2 with the same crappy rub strips. Removing them shouldn't really be difficult for any decent bodyshop. They just need taking off then the holes heed knocking in a bit and fibreglassing and filling in. Had to skim the whole side of the car though when we did mine coz the shape gets a bit distorted when you knock them in. Could get a bit expensive :(
