i was gonna sell due to the costs, but my renewal came through today.

at the moment i'm paying 1200 TPFT for my rallye, all mods declared, value of 1650. that's with 1 claim (not my fault) and 7 points with a CD10 from 2 years ago... also no NCB at all (never had a car long enough, either destroyed it or sold it).

i got my renewal letter through today. now, taking into account all the above, except this renewal includes 1 year NCB, i nearly had a heart attack when i read the premium.

593 quid TPFT. that's like a 55% drop in price !

i'm sooooooooooooo happy !!! very happy very happy very happy very happy woo hoo woo hoo

Been with Elephant before, pretty poor all round really. They do allow a 5 mods I think, but they don't cover engine comversions etc...

Suppose its ok for Standardish Cars. When I added my parents it always went down Shit loads with them :D

My renewal is due in March - Im still with flux after the PGAC "discount"
But they are ripping me off something rotten

2 years NCB 25 years old, 6 points on license and 1 fault accident, 1.4 quiksilver with buckets, alloys, lowered, exhaust and mild body mods - 780 a year fully comp
But paying monthly they stick loads of interest on so its 90 a month over 10 months!!

In march I will have (touch wood) 3 years NCB, no points on license in last 4 years, no accidents in last 3 years, and be 26 years old

Its also now got leather and a nearly standard bodywork so I dont wanna pay more than 450 ish a year fully comp

Might try HIC - but I hear tescos are really cheap?

Awesome - hope mine comes down this year. It was a new policy last year so was spanked for over 650 (I'm 25 with 6yrs NCB on my other car and no convictions!).

I'll try them in June when its up for renewal ;)

i have been with hic for three years now and cant fault them. last year at 20 with 3ncb i paid 600tpft for standard s1 rallye. then i crashed lost two years ncb. i swapped to a mini 1275 cooper look alike half way through the year and that policy was 330 for the year. when the reknewal came through with now only 1 year ncb they wanted 650 for the mini. by now the rallye was ready to come back on the road so i was shitting it to find out how much it was gonna cost. can you guess how much extra they wanted? 8! i thought he'd got it wrong! then i declared 16v brakes buckets susp wheels zorst filter and it went up 120. then i called to say i was having an extra 40hp (they will never know its really 60!) and it went up 120 again. so im paying bout 900 for a highly modified car when i cost them 2500 by crashing into a third party and they never maid me pay my excess either!

modified car insurance doesn't have to be as scary as people think. infact the bloke on the phone was trying to get me to turbo it!

also i think they have a lot to do with different car clubs my mini insurance said i could do track days as long as it was organised by certain organisations.

different companies aresuited to different people thats why its best to call around
