Just bought myself some new steelies from peugeot, didn't think it was worth refurbing the original ones for the price.
Was just wondering if theres something you can coat them with to protect them from rust etc.. any replys welcome :) thanks

Clean clean clean! If you ever get a hint of paint flaking off, paint over it! When I got mine I washed them, polished, then extra glossed protected them. They can be kept pristine, just need a lot more care than alloys do!

best bet it just keep on top of maintaining them.

I keep mine in good nick by a) washing them regular using a machine/engine clean water based spray (autoglym) and warm soapy water.

and B) make sure you tidy up any scratches straight away. I use hammerite stright to metal paint as its corrosion resistant and white!!

you could also wax them - but the thing that causes the corrosion is the bare metal so touch them up regular.

hope this helps.

i use the turtle wax wheel cleaner, its in a grey squirty bottle and its does a top job, brings them up white everytime, although they are getting quite a few imperfections on them now so considering getting them powdercoated at a local place for the summer,

25 each wheel with chip and corrosion warranty :D

Goodyear's F1's, Toyo Proxes, Potenza's, Avon's Zv3's, Yoko A539's etc etc. All better than the Pirelli's!

Went back and ordered the center caps at 9 a corner! Got them yesterday before my crash.
May sound alittle daft but how do they go on? Thought they would just push into the steelie but they're loose. Do the wheel nuts hold them on?

yes. Put one or two wheel bolts on first then the cap, then the remaining bolts.

Also 9 quid is steep for a centre cap, esp when its x 4 too, I would have searched for some 2nd hand ones my self.
