yep, the old myth that adding more drivers on to your insurance puts up your premium is total Rubbish.

I added first my girlfriend, same age and no - noclaims and my premium went down by 66, then i added my dad and it went down by a further 5!!

Do it everytime now!.

did it from the start so couldnt really say how much ive saved each year but ive not got 3 yrs no claims, mother on the insurance and 6 points and pay 450 tpft on my Ax GTi with ex system and filter...... not too bad but if i ever botherd to change (been with flux 3 years) then i could get it cheaper especially as i lose a set of points next may :)

It just shows you what these Bas**rd insurance companies fleece out of you! if it can rise and fall buy 300quid.

if your not 50, full no claims, married and live in the middle of nowhere, your gonna pay dear!

Mine was cheaper with my mum on it with Elephant but not with HIC, HIC were considerably more with mum on, bout 60 if I recall.

ill tell ya why that is

its coz were all prodomonly (xcuse the spelling) young drivers were at v high risk of drink driving insurance companies believe your alot less likely to offend if you have more than 1 driver as they think 1 of you will drink but the other drive etc

Try quinnsdirect

Do an online quote, put the value of your car up to 9000. saved me over 1000

I put it in as worth 1000 the 1st time they wanted 1987 to insure me 3rd party fire and theft, i put it in as Worth 9000 and they were only looking 870 to insire me TPFT...

Good little trick there...

recently sorted my girlfriends insurance out and when i looked at adding parents you are only supposed to add other drivers that are either your husband/wife or children

well thats stupid what if its a shared car and the other person isnt husband/wife/child.

personally i dont give a shit what i have to do, as long as i get the cheapest quote possible.

im giving thought next year to saying im doing a different job, why the hell should i pay more just cuz im a mechanic?

btw, my mum is a named driver on mine, saved me about 250 as well :D

Paul,

I know you're only joking around, but you have to be honest when applying...

When you crash you have to fill out a claims form and confirm all your details.
If anything doesn't correspond with your original application then they may try to use it against you. Also, it's fraudalent. You may only think it's changing a job, but if you do this you could easily lie about age, NCB, sex etc...

I'll stop being serious now - more fun please :D
