Did a bit of looking into why Peugeot Ireland are so expencive to Peugeot Uk(ie the nice steelies)... its because Pug Ireland is a private company who imports all cars and all parts....
So why do we in ireland have to spend more money to keep our cars good???????????

Yeah the prices of parts over here are unreal. As far as i've been told (weather its right or not) If i go to the North to buy parts i can have them next day delivery from the Uk if i order before 12am. But in the South for parts Rallyes aren't available so they are then ordered from France. Which is why the parts are so dear and take over a week to get delivered.
It's a bit unfair to us, But thats the price to pay when owning a rare sports car.:D

Well, they're very rare over here, less than 10 for definite I'd say for a population of around 4 million (1:400,000) compared to the UK, say maybe 300 of them and 60 million (1:20,000).
And as for them being a sports car, we'll not really but compared to most things on Irish roads they are. I'd say out of all the cars here maybe 20% or less are capable of sub 10 second 60s, over here people tend to go for the smallest engines they can, I find.

is the tax bad or something like that? hence why ireland went through a phase of buying 1.0ltr corsa ?
maybe you should create a french car parts company in ireland ;)

Tax and Insurance are both seriously bad, on the Rallye it's £265 a year.
That phase you talk about is everyday practice over here, I'd say the majority of cars over here are 1.6 or under. Most people buying a Golf or a Focus over here go for the 1.4, and I think the Micra is a best seller in Ireland?

^^^^:spam:^^^^ it was intended as humor...;)
The reason why alot of 1.0 and 1.2L cars are sold down the North is because most of them come with 1years free insurance when bought new. And with the price of insurance over here, it was a good option if you where only looking for a small everyday car.
