I got a Raceland induction kit on ebay there last week, so i hope to have it in the post soon and get it fitted to see if there is much of a differance.

But the best buy was these Sparco Sprint seats. Just picked them up tonight, there a nice snug fit and i think they will look the part when i get them in the car.:D

What are you doing with your old seats? Keeping them if you decide to ever sell them on?
Let us know how you get on with the induction kit, wondering how much of a difference it would make. We might compare my standard one vs yours with that and a pugsport on some private property sometime?
I wouldn't mind one of those Raceland manifolds for €200 but I'll see how the cash is first.
Oh, and I've some lovely 380 gram Kenwood Dual Mag speakers in the post :)

Yeah let me know when your private runway is open again and we can have a bit of a run to see whats the differance between the two cars. It will be good to see if the air filter makes much of a differance. The exhaust certinally did.
i intend to keep the standard seats, i'm gona cover them up and leave them up in the attic or some where that they will be kept dry. Might need them in the future.
I still have to order sliding sub frames to fit them. The sub frames are working out at £150 sterling including postage. That was almost the price of the seats.:yikes:
Looking forward to getting them in. Propper Rallye look:steer:

Yea when my private runway is open again we can check it out.
Thats some price for subframes, I wouldn't fancy that! They'll look nice though :)
I have new steels and potenza's on order too, should help with my wet weather problems.
I might be ordering some Group N wishbones too :veryhappy:

private runway ????????????? I think i have one of those......
wouldnt bother with Group N wish bones... no difference at all apart from harder rubber and i very dout u(or anyone) would notice the differ on the road..... pluse just leads to a noiser harsher ride
Group A ones now there is a difference story.....
Wayne if ya need any samco hose to fit that airbox let me know...

well lads..after gettin rid of the rallye a few wks back im stuck for a motor!
had a look at a 98 gti yday, 80k on the clock..completley standard, no nct
took it for a 5 min test drive on country roads, no traffic, no stoppin, not drivin real hard and when i got back the fan was runnin!!! do head gaskets give trouble in the 16v?
anything else to watch out for on them?
obviously the usual back axle check wil be done bt i want to know what else to look for?
cheers lads!

would ya not think about that blue s2 up north...
but when the 16v head gasket is going, it will normaly go on the left hand coner between the head n block(duh) so if u pop the bonnet n look down beside the EUC cover n see oil... eather walk away or buy n do it(at a cut down price)
if ya wanted id go c it with ya.....
where was the oil temp? and water temp?
and if i ever buy a 106 again i would always do the back axle anyway and put gease nipples in the swing arms

I'd be interested in a bit alright. Have you some left over that you would sell or do you know some where you can buy it ?
The air box should be in the post any day now hopefully.

I would have though they would be well worth it?
The poly middle bushes people seem to think are an upgrade and I think the Group N ones are the same if not a little stiffer.
The balljoints are meant to be upgraded too which would be good on Irish roads considering mine are knackered already, and most of all I heard the rear bush was the main wearing part of the wishbone and since you can't get a replacement rear off Peugeot your stuck to the 'inferior' stuff.
New wishbones and droplinks are mean't to make the handling a lot better on old 106s and Saxos

yea your right but like how much are they!!!!!
like i can get u two brand new wish bones for about 90euro with bush and ball joint????
and drop links for 35euro!!!
and true any new bush would make a difference

I know they're very expensive, I was thinking either than or Poly middle bush and Group N rear bush with new balljoints. Should be nearly as good as Group N ones, and about €100 a side cheaper!
The only thing is I'll need a spare set to do it on!

I got the seats fitted last weekend, great job...:veryhappy:
Not that easy to get in and out of, but there a great snug fit. Really happy with them...
I had to visit a scrap yard to get seat belt buckles of a 307, because the standard buckles in the rallye are fixed to the seat and i didn't want to be hacking up my orignal seats.

Get new poly ARB bushes fitted
Get new droplinks fitted
Get pads, discs and braided hoses for my 206 GTI brakes and get them on
Get pads and discs for the rear
Get dentman out to sort out a thing or two
I hope in future to get a S2 engine to play around with but that's a while away...

You know a bit about speaker wiring then Chris? It's weird because the right speaker works fine but the left is just dead, I tried swapping speakers and theres still no sound from the left but the right works fine. I tried connecting the speaker aswell when the radio was playing and all I got was a loud 'pop' noise and that was it :s
Group N rears were €68 each from www.peugeotsportboutique.com
I have the T55 thing for the ARB bushes, just need to actually do it! I think I'll do it next weekend along with sorting out the rear ARB.

id have to look at it just sounds like the wire has broken or something???? have u put a amp meter on the two wire's to see if the radio is putting out a signal... yea not a good idea to connect anything when its on
Daren S
24-04-2006, 12:54 PM
I had a good look and I can't see any wires broken, I think the fact that it made a noise too when I put it in while the radio was on mean't that something was coming through?
I don't have an amp meter but I'll try get a loan of one and see what it says.

Wayne D
