heres something to get your teeth into. A pic unearthed from many moons ago at an unknown show. Its an s1 rallye, red i think, but with an H plate (so private reg) and a turbo conversion! You can see the cooling system has been extensively reworked, theres a new header tank on the nearside and the rad looks very different, probably to make room for the turbo and manifold.

Can anyone shed any light on this conversion, where is the car now and are the rather optimistic figures provable!

According to the RAC site...

Make
PEUGEOT
Year of manufacture
1994
Model
106 RALLYE
Engine size(CC)
1294

If anybody has HPI access at work they could perhaps look into last owner change..

yes tim it is the nos injector loom going up through the bonnet, to the NOS bottles which are mounted on top of the bonnet i suspect.......

fairflay what the f**k are those wires lol

i reckon those wires are probably for a bonnet lamp pod, or maybe an electrical cutoff switch?

bonnet lamp pod seems to fit the picture nicely, good thinking batman:clap:

the 0-100 time is even more impressive, which i cant see it doing...

its got
165bhp
150ib/ft @ 1.1 bar...

hmmmmm 16psi of boost?

that's a fair amount, wonder if it had much in the way of uprated internals to cope with that?

doubt it would would spool up too quick, maybe a good thing in order to actually get that power down through the front wheels from take-off!

4.9s 0 - 60 isn't impossible with fwd, those figures may well be verified - BBR do VERY special things with turbos. Some of the stuff they've done with Ford RS's and Cosworths is not to be sniffed at...

Paul Ripley Fiesta RS Turbo (now owned by Paul Roberts) Features a 2.1 Zetec Turbo with 280bhp. It is setup for 1/4miles and is competely stripped inside with one lightweight sparco seat. Magnesium tarmac spec alloys and GAZ Coilovers all round.

The stats on that are:
0-60 - 4.89
0-100 - 11.32
1/4Mile - 11.51
Top Speed 127.8mph

So it is entirely possible but that must be running serious transmission to be able to get the power down and literally launch the car down the track. The fiesta has adjustable lower arms which are also all rose jointed and a Quaife ATB Diff.

This is regarded as one of the quickest FWD Ford's around, seeing as Jap are mainly RWD.

Im intrigued as to the inlet setup still using a S1 inlet and also a charge cooler system.

BBR are still around and tuning new Mini's http://www.bbrgti.com/index.php

Transmission is a good point, geared to reach 60/100 in those times yet still get to 143mph.... wonder what it revs to?

I'd imagine that the s1 inlet is pretty good for turbos, will defo take the pressure.
165hp isn't unreasonable,in fact lots more should be possible, but those times are just silly!

Agreed. I'm not disputing a 165bhp from 1.1bar but to attain those 0-60 and 0-100 times and also such a high top speed is suspect.

Also you would of thought one of us would have seen it at a show or something over all these years.

If anyone speaks danish, this website talks about a 165bhp BBR conversion for the 106...

brycey just following on from your post, their is a fully road legal ctr (FF) that does a 1/4 mile in about 10.5, its about 550bhp though...

just to show JAP rules! :D

Nah jap is just boring, no heart or soul in their cars. Plus it shows it needs an extra 300bhp to beat a well tuned ford.

That'd be like putting your Rallye up against a Evo FQ400.

Eugh there is one of those in my town, horrid car. I thought Rallye idle was 'rough' but this thing sounds like its permanently on 3cyl. But whatever floats your boat, i'd rather have a car with soul and passion than a plastic fantastic rocket from the far east.

Anyone emailed BBR yet?

i'd say performance figures are highly unlikely. but then LAD told me my rallye would do 60 in 7 seconds after i had had the head done there!

one of my girlfriends mates had an evo 6 but now has a gay 3 series conv auto but was talking to him the other day. he was taking the piss out of my gf's old clio sport.
he said"how much power did it have? 200bhp?" i said "no 170 actually". he said "huh my evo made that in third gear"

PENIS!!!

Goes to show you dont have to know what you're doing to have a nice car. his cams were knackered so he sold the car. pussy
