did you use the right oil? fuel filter? is there excess travel in the throttle cable? tried cleaning the air filter? what times tea?

i doubt it'll be your leads but by all means change them anyway,

If you got it done at a Pug garage they should have used the right bits and replaced spark plugs too, I would have thought.

If it's messed up they should put it right for free.

10w40 will be ok but 5w40's better ;), depends tho they could have just used a garage quality oil, which is pap!

might aswell change your gearbox oil too (75w80 will suffice)

try cleaning you air filter first before you change you engine! , just check over everything, check all your sensors, and maybe get the timing checked again, i'm pretty certain it could be that

the economy is shite on it but its always been like that, i think im gona try find a rear end write off on a 106 gti

you should be getting about 120 miles to half tank, unless you thrash it every where

changing the engine is a little drastic imo, try changing the oils and clean/renew the air filter

it was runing pretty good b4 service tho thats what i dont understand, they also ran up like 36 miles on the car somehow, the log book said roughly 81,200 n when i looked at the clock at the garage it had around 81,230 roughly. i expected more from a pug dealer! the 16v is somthin ive thought of for a while n it seems worth doing

theres a picture of something similar in the lastest pgac mag, the 207 GTi article, 180bhp (ish) standard from the turbo unit, the lump looks TU,

Dave P
