Weekend before last, and at the start of my epic trip to the Midlands and back, M26 JDU made it to its' One-hundred-and-twenty-thousandth mile.

Clearly this had to be marked in some way, so I pulled into Newton Abbot's branch of Homebase to record the event for posterity.

Almost made it to 121,000 within a week! Whoops!

Apart from a stone getting stuck in my R/F caliper at Nuneaton causing brief concern, never missed a beat. Hasn't used a drop of oil in months. Time for new wheels and tyres and I must admit Harper's banshee has got mine beat til I get a Pugsport on.

ah stop bitching how cool do our rallyes look there??

just do what i have done and paint your calipers red, then you have the best colour (white) with a bit of red on for your needs :D

kinda random but tom did you buy your car off ebay as a bit of a taaty one wi a damaged rear bumper or summat? my mate was gonna buy it as his is m25 jdu instead of m26

That's right, I rescued it!

The lad selling it didn't know what he was doing, I paid him cash to end the auction early and then it turned out he had a genuine bid for twice that. Bought a new bumper for it and the lads at Shenpar sprayed and fitted it and within weeks I scuffed it on the garden wall :(

Had to refit the rear offside arch extension as well, which I am happy to report is performing very well and I will have kits at FCS.

Still got the front to sort, front bumper has some paint missing and most of the car seems to have been resprayed following a shunt to the right front, evidence of which only came to light when I got the carpet up. That said tyre wear has been very even, brakes performed evenly at the MoT, so it's obviously been put back straight.

Fibreglass bonnet needs some fettling along the front where the gelcoat's broken and then I can get rid of the original one, which had obviously been slammed with a wrench still in the engine bay!

Harper, you're right. They do look cool. Just got to get some of that GTi Brake action on mine and the noise, and a lower brace, and harnesses, and new seats....

Still a bit to do but new steelies and tyres are up next and should get it looking much better. I have nowhere to work on it at present so it's hard!

The existence of M25 JDU I think you've mentioned before, Aidy, some day we must reunite them ;)
