As most of you know I've spent a fair bit of money and a LOT of time working on my car in the last few months

I've suspected for a while that its quicker than I expected but couldn't prove it
Beaten a 51plate vtr from a standing start but obviously thats just pub bragging

So today I dragged myself over to my mates motorsport company for a rolling road session :D

A little history - the quiky is 75bhp as standard
On my last rolling road session - 2 years ago - my car made 87.5bhp with a ram air induction kit, full exhaust and decat

My car has now done nearly 120k so is getting a bit tired, has the same induction kit but now has a 4-2-1 manifold and group n scorpion exhaust system

And it made............. *drum role* ................ 75bhp!!!

AT THE WHEELS! LOL
95bhp at the fly - to say i'm happy with a 20bhp increase over standard is an understatement. But then my mate decided he was gonna try fitting a prototype to my car which everyone else has said is impossible. I've lost idling a little bit which I need to tweak around tomorrow but the run with the new device made 96.5bhp

So official figure is 96.5 @ 5500rpm :D

I cant post pics of the prototype "thingy" or say what it is until we know if it works as he might be selling it as a conversion for quiky owners LOL

YAY!
I am utterly over the moon and I've finally proven my car is as quick as I thought it was - brilliant!
Abandoned plans of VTR engines now as the 1.4 is soo much lighter and is responding really well to tuning
Going to fully rebuild it with some mild head work and cams and see if 110bhp is reachable...

I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you... or sleep with you I forget which :p

I'm chuffed to bits - its still not a "fast" car by any stretch of the imagination - but its enough to play with VTR's. And being the alloy block still its huge fun on bends as I had it weighed at 820kg LOL so its around 120bhp/tonne anyway

I wonder what DanVilla2's Quiky would make?

That seemed to do very well up the 1/4 mile for a Quiky, was quicker than yours if I remember correctly?

Yes because Dan had the manifold which I've now bought LOL

When i went to the quarter mile with him I had a DIY decat on which was losing all the back pressure - car was running about 80bhp - and yeah he beat me quite easily

So went out and bought a manifold same as he has and done some other bits and pieces

I wanna race him again :)

Lol, used to be my Manifold! :p

But if you are making 95bhp, do you think he is making similar power?

Think i'm going to quit racing you while i'm ahead fuzz!! lol

It was very close before, only recent change for me is my decat, should be good fun next time we meet!!

We'll have to get a 106owners meet soon at the Pod or Shakespeare, i'd deffo be up for it after late May and early summer.

What make of manifold is it?

Should be mate - I know the late style rocker heads like mine flow better than the older ones - and ive got a couple of other little prototype bits on my car
But his still should be low 90's bhp

I think its Janspeed, if not then Raceland.

Cool

We deffo need a rematch mate

I was gutted when you beat me - been out and spent £600 on parts for mine in the last few weeks LOL

Just spent another £400 on some reclining buckets and a half OMP cage aswell! :)

mad! 25% power increase from bolt on mods?! If only it worked for all engines, i could get 150bhp from my 16v engine! Well actually my last rolling road result was 141bhp with no internal mods so not far off eh ;) i still say my car has 120bhp though cos the rr owner fudged the figures!
