Cotswold motorsport group championship round at down ampney, cirencester GLOS on april 7th, think they could do with marshalls, i will be driving my bro's red rallye on my 1st event, and possibly another rallye, maybe 2 more, and an xsi, 2 106 gti's, 1 206 1600GTI!!

www.cheltmc.com to contact about marshalls, should be a good day, NO SPECTATORS so come and marshall!!

No one coming to watch/marshall then, they are mighty short so i hear!!

Think there is 6 106 1400's, 3 rallyes (one is mine:)) and another has the BRC S1600 champ in it so should be good for a top 10/15 maybe??

I did this rally too.

Apart from an oil leak in Stage 2 and one or two mongish moments from me the rally went really well and we finished 19th overall and 2nd in the Shopping Trolley (<1400cc) class. Not a bad effort if I do say so myself...

Charlie was third in class.

Nine of the ten stages are on YouTube...

SS1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XTRHXeSuJU) - Steady start, look out for the service crew at the 90 right at the end of the long straight, especially the 2nd time through!
SS2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7ZcPcG8O40) - 20 secs faster than SS1, oil smoke coming into the car towards the end.
SS3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGpp_wGcpyQ) - Catching and swearing at an Austin Healey, catching and passing another 106 Rallye.
SS4 - To follow after editting!
SS5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay2GylCcbHo) - Relatively polite commentary, passed 1.9 GTi though I think it might have been f*cked.
SS6 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9QaDb_YuSA) - Fairly clean stage, perfect handbrake right/left towards the end.
SS7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUQ3deWJLEc) - Nothing too exciting, some gratuitous use of the handbrake.
SS8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0nz9qQMGM0) - Fairly fast and clean.
SS9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJF2Pd_fZYE) - Camera comes loose, I almost f*ck up a split, but some nice low-speed drifting towards the end.
SS10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0nMxH1ogX8) - Last stage, bit steadier, continues onto the trailer!

All stages are paired, ie. 1&2, 3&4 etc are identical in lay-out.

Really excellent fun, think I've just about worked out how to drive the 106 now. Doing another rally at the same venue on 5th May, can't wait. :D

Yeah, I'm sure the diff must help a lot. I've never driven the car without it so can't say how much, but it certainly doesn't hang about on the exit of corners, just grips and goes.

You didn't hold me up at all, and thanks for pulling over so considerately. If only everyone did that. That Healey was very, very fast in a straight line but hopeless through the twisty bits and was starting to get on my wick as you might have noticed! I've had to edit SS4 because I was being less than complimentary about the driver of the white 205 that held us up for ages. They only got out of the way once I resorted to horn and lights, and you shouldn't have to do that...

SS4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpoSfEKO3MY) now online having been editted with two Stig-esque musical interludes...

Very well done yesterday, 3rd in class is very good for a first event.

Hope to see you at EMCOS.

was that car 47, yes she held me up massively too, how i didn't hit her on a number of occasions i do not know but hey ho, she nearly had a rallye red mark on the back end, think my nav seat has brown mark on it though!!
