View Full Version : dealership woes

Just picked my Rallye up today from the garage after having the head gasket replaced
took it in first thing wednesday morning last week, fair enough the head needed skimming and pressure checking, but 6 days?????? when I went to pick up my car it looked as though it had done a stage on the paris-dakkar and now idles at 1500 rpm and whistles through the oil filler cap?
I wanted the job doing properly so thought the sensible option would be to take it to my nearest dealership 600 and 4 hours cleaning later, how wrong I was.

Shouldn't have taken the car back like that, i would have asked to speak to the head of servicing.

If the car was clean when it went in i would have demanded an explination ?

Glad you kept her Grant, but that is not good, put a letter of complaint in and take photos aswell. When my sisters car goes to peugeot for a service they always clean it :)

sounds like you have a legitimate reason to complain, but 6 days isnt unreasonable, especially when you consder one of those days was a sunday? The head would have had to be taken to a specialist company to skim and pressure test it and they wouldnt have done it overnight. My head took about a week to get done and that doesnt include dismantling or rebuilding it all!

I suppose your right dyno but still can't understand why it now whistles through the oil filler cap?

the oil filler cap should be sealed, i would check the seal on it, it probably just needs a replacement, im sure they would be willing to add it to your bill ;)
