Escape from Dartmoor!

Right since the success of our last big SW meet the Exmoor Escapade, i'm planing with the help of Tom J Escape from Dartmoor and the hairy hands :cheese:

If we get enough peeps i'm getting window stickers made up:)

Slight change of plan here...

I'm sorry but the camping is off, nowhere I tried wanted a group in their twenties :o So I've rearranged for the Sunday of that is OK with everyone. We will still do a similar route, meeting at Okehampton (BP petrol station, postcode EX20 1QJ) at 10am on Sunday morning. I have booked a table at the Fingle Bridge Inn at Drewsteignton at around 1pm for up to 12 of us, they have a carvery on the Sunday but will also serve other food for fussy people (:grin:). After lunch we will go out towards the other side of the moor (Tom has shown me some good roads to use :)) and finish up in Ashburton.

If anyone from up north wants to convoy down I'll be getting on the motorway in Taunton at 9am, we can meet in Halfords car park.

I've come from Crewe and the car is piddling out coolant but I'll be there from lunchtime onwards at the very least. I'm going for a run onto the fringe of the moor in the morning to see how stable the temperatures are - I've got some stuff to try and seal the leak a bit.

The moor is very greasy today and some of the whites may not be particularly advisable if the visibility is poor as well, but let's see how it turns out.

Looks like you al had a great day, loving the picture of the GTI on the slope! Gutted i we couldnt make it, spent the day dodging the rain and polishing the car, she's off to the garage tomorrow so hopefully we be able to attend Llandow in a couple of weeks !

Very quick job before work, here goes...

I managed to fix my coolant leak, bleed the rad, put some (more!) oil in and test the car in the morning and joined at lunchtime. Shame the turnout was less than half the original list, but I hope everyone had a good day.

The road back through Starcross and Powderham at the end was a right disappointment, all those bollards and chicanes are new since I last drove it, ruined a nice little road!
