saw some Pug Performance business flyers and stuff at FCS....to my horror a big Rallye logo next to their name!

Considering this company has virtually nothing to do with the Rallye ethos at al, seems outrageous to me....as they are a company specialising in bodykits, silly engine conversions and general chav modifications

rant over

Didnt realise they were using it?

Maybe send them a polite email ;)

Although they have "modified" a few Rallye's in the past...

Do you have a pic of the offending flyer?!

if i recall cos ive seen it myself its not an exact copy of the rallye stripes

but at end of the day noone on here owns the rights to the stripes so i see no real problem in them using the colours

Thats exactly what I was gonna say. Do the RR have copy right? I think its very unfair to slag of another company, because they are using the same logo that none have copy rights on except Peugeot themselves.
I dont think its fair to be nasty about someone elses business - especially when they are not here to defend themselves.

I think the leathered rallye stripe seats are very well done.
Not my sort of thing obviously.

pug performance...good ol cowboys. recitfied their shoddy work a couple of times for people.

utter utter twats they are.

errr when did I ever say RR had exclusive rights to them!!

my point was how a company like this (as stew described so accurately) with a reputation like theirs, can justify using the Rallye logo!!!! As they are not even close to what it represents!!

It's irritating, but the only thing you could ever do is to persuade Peugeot to have a go. Then we'd probably find ourselves being asked to stop using it, so frustrating as it is, I guess it's best left.

Let's take imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery ;)

Bodies and standard ECU? No spec for this one though.

I spoke to one of the guys at Pug Perfomance at FCS about work on my car, they wanted £400+vat for a gearbox rebuild which seems excessive from my point of view.

PMSL at the hot air induction!!

The Rallye logo must be a cool thing to be associated with, but lets hope people don't associate Pug Performance with Rallyes!

Anyone got a scan?

there are a few companies who have used the three colour splashes as their logos, ive seen it on a few delivery lorrys (someone had a photo of one on here) it was also the logo for a recent Conference of some kind in Germany, i saw it in the back ground of a photo.

Its a bit like that plumbing company Mitre whose M is exactly the same as the M sport logo of BMWs. Stuff like this always happens. As long as people dont assume that because a car has the s2 splashes on, that it has been breathed on by pug performance.

As a funny aside, when i swapped the windows on my XSi for non openers, i put the old opening ones, complete with chrome PugPerformance stickers, on my girlfriends completely standard green 106 1.1 :D

TBH I dont see a problem, the stripes are Peugeot sport colours and being a pug specialist it makes sense really. Theyre work cant be all that bad. My friend Nick from PSOOC has a CTI on TBs which was on the pug performance stand. Its a great car and all the work seems fine. He even rang one of the guys at pug performance who lent some tips when I broke down on the way back from FCS which was nice.

They barely do any of their own work anyway it all get outsourced, but yeah what I've seen of it so far has been shocking!!

16v conversion that throws alternator belts off every trip because its so bodged together, exposed wires, cable ties everywhere
They did one of my mates over - he left his car there for a month and they sold his bucket seats without even asking him!

semtex

they cant be that bad can they ? surely they would have been shut down for selling his seats off

I have heard of similar stories about customer cars being left down there and having various bits liberated from them...

But I've not had first-hand experience of them myself so I'm keeping quiet. :)
