Anyone driven there? How fast would i expect to get up to in a well specced 106?

I reckon you would be bouncing off the limiter with your short box dude.

120-ish mph I think from a mild 16v engine with S1 box.

Whats "well spec'd"? I'd expect 150 mph I'd guess. Not driven there in my 106 so i'm stabbing in the dark.

I think you would run out of gears before 150 in most 106s dude, unless the limit has been raised. Think the terminal speed on the rollers for my car was 147mph. You and your gigantic BE box might go further though :D

Yeah - I don't know what FD is in my BE box but it does seem to be happy at the upper ends or the speedo for sure. My limiter is 7500 so not crazy high - although I will say when I used to run 17's (don't tell anyone) that affected the top speed quite a bit too... That had a high top speed (140+) and was standard gearing wise, other than the wheels. They sure do make a difference! Ruined 0-60 though. And handling. And ride comfort... ;)

As it stands just now yes but with a taller FD... ;)

Difficult to guess aint it, higher speed stuff is more to do power/aero than lightweight.

My pals 360bhp impreza manages around 136mph there while his wife's 600 odd bhp Skyline did 160mph.

I'm thinking around the 125-130mph mark...

Defo wont manage 150mph on the Revit straight. Click on the links below to sample a "well spec'd" 106. ;)

What gearing and tyre size are you running now? Still thinking of racing around the country next year? If you end up down this neck of the woods, give us a shout and I'll pop over and cheer you on. And hope that the weather is better than last weekend for the BARC meeting as it was PISSING it down!

ETA: Oh and if they manage to pull off the planned changes (which they've been talking about for at least the last four years!) before next year's season kicks off, then it'll affect your entry speed onto the Revett straight slightly, depend on which circuit they run.

I believe the changes are happening.
Is this for Time Attack next year Dave?

I'm thinking of doing TA next year time will tell.

Otherwise i might be appearing at TA with a pal & his s/c 16v S1 106 Rallye.

Mankee, gearing wise i currently have a 3.145/2.33/1.778/1.429/1.208 gearset & 4.28 FD giving a top speed of 111mph on my 21.5" slicks...

Changing to R888's (57.4cm OD) will increase my top speed to 117mph but that wont be enough, a 4.08 or 3.94 FD may be in order.

A 3.94 FD would give me a top speed of 127mph @ 9000rpm.

I'd love to meet that guy.. my hero!

Another point to bring up like we spoke about Dave... rear spoiler. How can we fit a functional item to an S1 106 without it looking super shite/halfords special!?
any ideas guys?

a 700kg 106 doing the top side of 150mph isn't going to be stable exactly...

Now emailing you the ratios for that Drenth box Master P.

Under floor aero would be pretty important too!

Thought this might interest you too:

Diggers are in and ready to tear the place up as they've cancelled some of the trackday dates for early December now. I'm going to try and get a few cheeky laps in on the old circuit next weekend as I'll never get another chance to drive it again as it currently stands!

I was under the impression they were keeping it all, so they can just cone off at different events to pic and choose which layout of the circuit they want for each event..
