Diss 4?

Any thoughts about this yet? Can we go for Wednesday 9th May as I'm at Snetterton all day anyway, so have got to drive through/around Diss anyway to get home.

HuntyS1 16-04-2012 11:10 AM

Yea im up for that where we thinking?

quin 16-04-2012 12:35 PM

rallye failed mot today so may still be short on funds, also has slight play in near side rear beam :( only as advisory though, i have new bearings but my twat of a mechanic doesnt want to do it, as he thinks the stub pin will be nackard but we had it apart like 2 years ago didnt we mankee and fitted all new seals etc so i rekon the bearings will soak up the play and hopefully the stub pin will be okay...... you free over the next couple of months to offer your services mate ;) if not we could make june the fix quins rear beam meet :) lots more people to swear at it might help

Mankee 16-04-2012 03:04 PM

Maybe the Old Ram again? I quite like it in there, plus it has a big car park, which could be useful as I might have a trailer with me. No Ultimate Mixed Grill this time though. Not unless I can get some prior warning to do some training for it!

Quin, shame about the Rallye. What did it fail on? Was it 2 years ago that we looked at the beam? I can't remember now! Think best idea is probably get it apart and take a look at it. That Simon bloke is quite useful. Could have a "garage weekend" when the weather gets nicer and it stops hailing randomly.

quin 16-04-2012 04:52 PM

Wimp!!

quin 17-04-2012 06:27 AM

the place is normally dead lenient but i didn't realise 'till i got there my usual tester is on holiday so there's cover from a bloke from a nearby garage, who it would seem is picky as fuk as none of that rust (except n/s rear inner arch) was noted last year and it hasn't gone from nothing to "excessive" in a year.... unless its some kind of fast growing rallye eating mutant rust! never mind :(

HuntyS1 19-04-2012 11:08 AM

quin 19-04-2012 07:35 PM

whooo got it back felt weird not having it for 5 days! its had the inner rear arch welded, some welding on the sills, and a bit near the fuel pipe, all undersealed, then new brake lines to rear, new rear wheel bearing, new rubbers on the exhaust backbox and an off side track rod end + tracking :) and the mot

parts - 80.72 labour 120 then mot and the vat --> 275.86 didnt really think that was bad at all :) what yall rekon? track rod end has made a lovely difference actually corners without shaking your arms off, but ill just have to do the beam at some point in a few months, so potentially im number 5 on the list for the next meet

ps simon dont forget my steelie this time :)
