Yann's S2 Rallye

Hello everyone...
I do have a progress blog on 106owners, but ive finally payed for a membership and thought i would put my progress blog on here aswell...

This was started in 2009, so bare with me

Im really bored tonight, and thought i may aswell do one of these...so here it goes

I had my S1 rallye/xsi replica 1.1 for over a year, and then decided it was time to move on...

Str18 ( sam) who lives about 5 mins away, got a rallye, and i instantly fell in love !
I knew i wanted one over a saxo

So took a 3hr train journey to Taunton, to have a look at this rallye. I checked all the necessary things after reading a "buying" guide of RR.

THis is what she looked like when i got her:

the spec was :
2" pugsport with 3" tailpipe, Raceland Induction kit, gloss white speedlines, Quickshift, and lowered 45 at the rear.

I drove her home and the next day gave her a nice clean !

I drove her for a month like this, and then the BAD times arrived...

Driving home from college, the throttle cable snapped, had to get a new one. My mates and i then fitted it, which took ages !

The following week, the handbrake cable snapped...Ive got new cables, havent got round to fitting them yet!

I also found out the rear O/S disc + pads arent working, so got new discs and pads for the rear off Cherry!

after that, my car decided to idle/rev/accelerate funny ! So cleaned the coil pack, got a new set of HT leads, new Spark plugs. Cleaned everything else.

Now when i drive the car, blue smoke comes out of the exhaust, so its either the valve stem oil seals or piston rings which are gone !
So i bought a set of valve stem oil seals, a water pump, cambelt, and need a few other parts before i re-build my head !!!!

And the latest problem : A lound grinding/rubbing noise occurs when im driving, so im going to change the driveshafts + wheel bearings !

So basicaly, ive been really unlucky ! :

I really did want to sell her at one point, but i think im just going to work on her and get her running beautifully !!

Here are some pictures of her clean

Now getting to the intresting bit...
I had blue smoke nearly since i bought the car, topping it up a lot of the time, smelling oil etc etc was really getting on my nerves. So i saved up and bought a LOT OF NEW STUFF for the rallye, including a really LOW mileage engine ( thanks to paul)

alright well heres the update! im fitting a really REALLY low mileage engine in my car... 1.6-8v rallye engine!
Thanks to a few mates ( sam- mickey- rob) we started stripping the rallye today, and got quite far already ! i plan on painting the engine bay in the next few days, then drop the new engine in !

Ive also bought loads of new body panels all thanks to a Paul !

Some pictures !

Then work then begins!
A BIG THANK YOU TO SAM for getting me LOADS of parts for my car, i coudnt of done it without him !
Cheers buddy...

They're an option from 106parts - they do the original 2" rolled out, and a 3" rolled in tail pipe - still 2" bore system though - just a tailpipe option.
