Bugger man! If you need some wishbones just to get you through the MOT, I can probably whip the ones off the VTS and send them down to you. They should be in good nick but need to check tomorrow. Plus it sort of turns the car into a wheelbarrow as I won't be able to move the damn thing around any more.

Edit: actually, just saw these new wishbones that Ben is selling: http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2...ad.php?t=82675

That nut might have had something to do with me

I've been ordering bits to get it back on the road.

I kinda wish it was still a 1.3 I love those little engines. i found Cobblers progress thread and got a bit more info through that. It was in a bit of a state when I got it and over a year have spent over 1500 with receipts.

Just spotted those. its just the upper bushes that are worn. 13ish from eurocarparts. the ones that bolt up through the floor.

appreciate the offer! i have got myself a cheeky bus pass for a couple of weeks while i gather parts to get most of it done myself. the welding will be done by a good friend for pizza and beer.

i'll have it sorted in a few weeks.

Ye it was in a similar condition when i got it, it had been hit on the front driver wing and front corner of the bumper had cracked abit, someone had half repaired it by fitting a black wing, also the check strap had let go on the passenger side so creased the door and someone had vandalised the tailgate, luckily though i found someone breaking a red s1 and managed to get all the parts just to bolt on and then repaired and painted the bumper at work.

No probs Nick, no offence taken I swapped gearboxes and drove it straight to my mate's garage for its mot and must have not tightened the nut enough. I've replaced a lot of the nuts and bolts on my suspension recently.

Poor car indeed. Its been giving me problem after problem but my mechanic says I'm nearly there!
I noticed the partly new drivers side wing when I had the car delivered. Previous owner didn't think to tell me. I have had it to a body shop and they confirmed it had been in a small accident but the worl was carried out to a good standard.

Have booked it in to have the welding done, ordered new balljoint bushes and a few other bits. Taking the bus to work and Sick of it already. Toll on payday, want to get it all sorted and mot'd. Then a celebratory blast down my fav county lane with the 1.3 box back on

Imo it's worth getting known decent bushes from 106parts rather than euro. Can't speak for theirs exactly, but I ordered some while 106p's were out of stock... They had to be chopped to fit around the ARB bush mounts! I was not impressed.

Yeah, I had a right mare replacing those buggers. The first set I tried were an eBay special, both completely rubbish. Both looked 100% fine, but one had the bolts snap when torqued up to spec, then the other one the metal centre came loose after about 100 road miles.

Replaced with the First Line ones 106p go for and they seem fine. Probably should've just taken the hit and gone to Pug really. Still far better than the old ones which were on there though, they were completely dead.

Now on pistonheads.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3504632.htm

Found a nice standard low mileage Silver (one of 32) 172 Cup as a replacement. Pics up soon!
(This has got an edge on my brother's ph1 172 until about 70mph. So much more feedback in corners and twisties. I will really miss it.
Here are a few more of the ol girl before she goes.

Comments welcome

Fsh
85k miles
Aftermarket manifold
2.5" Full Magnex 'Pugsport'
Grp n engine & g.box mounts
Viper induction kit w. Cold air feed
Uprated torsion bars
Lowered 60mm() on gmax shocks and springs
Upper strut brace
16" superleggeras powdercoated white
Pioneer headunit
Braided brake lines

Goes well, not as eager as the 106 thou!
Plans are to get the roof vinyl wrapped as its going a bit pink and to get it raised by at least 30mm,especially the rear.that should make it handle great.
New front tire due to a 10p sized bubble on the side of the tire wall. Dont fancy a blowout!
Very pleased with it!
