Thanks Gus, and thanks again for the info on the Group N wishbone bushes, which I've now ordered along with some Group N top mounts from La Boutique. Also, I've sold the solid wishbone bushes due to the reports that they knock quite a bit and seem a bit more trouble than they're worth, hopefully the hard rubber ones will be less severe for everyday use.

And the PTS wheels are cleaning up like new, apart from the kerbing, as the little nook and crannies have a fair bit of brake dust and crap fused on but some wonder wheels cleaner combined with aggitation with a small screwdriver its taking it all off. Shame it takes about 40 mins per wheel, only 2 and half left to do Hopefully I'll get some daytime pics up on friday or saturday once I've replaced the locking mech on the boot which now just buzzes and refuses to lock!

Car is booked in on wednesday to have the following fitted:

Group N engine mounts
Group N top mounts
Polyrace wishbone middle bushes
Group N wishbone rear bushes
22mm front ARB with Powerflex bushes
24mm rear ARB
Polyrace rear beam bushes

Then friday its booked elsewhere to have the slightly wonky-sitting rear end levelled and raised slightly. I can't wait to have the work completed, it should feel great to drive then

It sure does Gus!

Most immediate difference is on start up, Group N engine mounts are brilliant, I wish I'd fitted them long ago! The engine sounds different from the inside now, alot more bark to it and the gearbox whines loads more too. And the annoying knocking noise from the front has gone, could have been a top mount or wishbone bush.

Overall it feels great, nice and tight and responsive and the back is definatly more playful thanks to the bushes and ARB. Rear ride height is also sorted and now sits nice and level either side

Also the wheels have cleaned up as good as new (bar some kerbing) and I fitted some new stickers to them. Really all the car needs now is a stonking engine in it!

Hi James,

Very nice XSi. Good work and the pts wheels look lush.

Where did you get the group N engine mounts? Which brand are they?

I won a Willans 3" 6 point harness off ebay for £54 earlier, meant to be in as new condition too! My 2" ones slip out of shape quite easily which is annoying, need a 3" passenger one now

Nah I don't mind your opinion mate , the thing I do miss about the Chronos is the colour. I think I might get them done anthracite eventually, but I defo prefer the design and the dish they have! Plus the rareness kudos

I've bought some carbon bits this arvo, new front door cards and some sheeting to make some fuel pump and fuel sender unit covers.

If anyone wants to buy my carbon composite door cards (see 1st page) drop me a PM

Fitted my new harness today, it certainly won't be coming loose every 5 mins like my Sabelt ones do thats for sure! And I added my DIY carbon fuel pump/sender unit covers and some skateboard deck grip tape to the passenger footwell to replace the crappy mat that was there beforehand.

That looks cool. I cant believe your door cards sold so fast

I'll just have to get mine re-trimmed if I manage to get those seats. If I don't get them I'll settle for a pair for 708's and a remap

Did some small bits and bobs to the interior today just to tidy it up a bit. Carbon tart

I made a blank to fill in the hole for the centre consol/quickshift area which I'm really happy with!

I then had a bit left over so made some small blanks. I tried to get that blank next to the fag lighter out but it looks like I need to take part of the centre consol out to get to it, which I'll do when I get a spare fog light button to replace mine which was partly sucked up by the hoover some months ago!

And new door cards.

Thanks tommy, yeah pleased with how the cards have come out, good quality and a good price for them too! Don't think I'll be wanting rear ones though as a. its more money lol and b. I use my rear 3/4 nets quite a lot to hold stuff like wetsuits/towels etc!

Lol my car is just a dodgy copy of yours Stu!

Quick update, not much to report recently, mainly been saving money for Sandy's work and a snowboard trip!

But yesterday I bought some Group N gear linkages from Dave_C and I'm heading up to Sandy's tomorrow morning to change my alternator and belt. Then theres a 106OC meet on Saturday that me and taylormade are heading up to, should be fun

You'll get the linkages tomorrow I expect James. First class was on 20p more so you got lucky! Might as well hang about for a bit if you can and take them to Sandy's with you!

Wheres this meet then? Dunno why I'm asking as I've gotta fit discs and pads, speakers and go for a power run on Saturday!

Meet is at Castle Drogo last time I looked, hopefully the weather is alright.

Those wheels do look good

Ever want your chronos back I'll trade em lol. I was thinking about getting the chronos done silver as silver wheels do suit the metallic XSi colours to the ground. As you can see from your new wheels and my old VTS rims.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I've always been a dark wheels fan, but the silver has grown on me loads now! And I'll pass on the swap

Also I tried to fit my gear linkages today and failed. I could only get one end of each of the old ones off, the other ends were either on hellish hard or just plain awkward to get a good leverage on. So its been booked in on friday at the cheap and friendly garage up the road, shouldn't take them much more than an hour to do.

Well Dave.....they're pretty good actually. Firmed up the gearchange quite a bit and it feels much tighter and smoother. Shift seems a bit shorter too, but thats probably just me as they were the same length as OE ones. Bargain at £30

Carbon glovebox blank came through from Bic today Pretty pleased with it, I had him make it a bit more rigid than they'd normally be as I want to be able to mount my ECU onto it eventually.

And I'm still deciding on whether or not I should get my wheels refurbished

Hi, thanks, yours looks nice too! You have great taste and the wheels look good in silver there

Knocked up some sketchy photshops using paint.net of the wheels in anthracite with/without polished lip. Really unsure, the safe choice is plain anthracite but the lip could look brilliant (and its a bit different) but maybe just a bit too P.I.M.P., which isn't me tbh.

I think the whole wheel in a dark colour is the way to go...the last pic looks great! They'll look sexual in that colour!
