Rallye seat fabric: new replacement material

I know that there has been some interest in getting replacement fabric in the past. I think that there is a good chance of getting the cloth produced and made available again. To understand whether this is viable I need some expressions of interest.

Action required: Can you post below if you are interested please

If we are able to get sufficient numbers this will mean that both the needlecord fabric used on the bolsters and the insert pattern fabric was used in the Ph2 and Ph3 306 Rallye and Ph2 106 Rallye will be available.

There is no proposal to reproduce the Ph1 106 Rallye fabric at present. On the 106 the fabric was also used on the front door cards.

Could definately be interested, do you know if they would come made as a seat cover or seperate parts that would need sewing together? Also would the foam be available?

Yes yes - certainly enough for the 2 front seats and perhaps enough for the lot dependant on price and format.

Another issue being that I think you will find that the front seat fabric was glued / bonded to the foam cushion from factory, this makes it very difficult to remove the fabric without damaging an already collapsed bolster. When new covers / foams were available from factory they came complete and ready to fit.
The next problem if you managed to get old fabric off is then getting the new fabric to look factory fresh on a bumpy piece of foam an not all bumpy / lumpy.
Has anyone seen reproduced seat foam's for the Rallye? I think I have seen 205 ones on French EBay.

I could well be interested in enough for two bucket seats - using both the plain and patterned fabric, oh and someone good with a sowing machine to make some seat covers

I'd be very interested as long as the cost isn't absolutely astronomical, my seats are a bit tatty and it'd be good to have spare.

Edit to add - I have my rear seat covers in a vacuum bag off the foam at the moment if you need a sample sending to a manufacturer, don't need it back for a long time.

Is the side bolster material different between the s1 and s2 interior?

My memory is a bit hazy as it's probably 10yrs since I had my first s1 with the OEM interior. Did it have a red weave to the fabric? The s2 is just black.

Okay, I'll admit I haven't progressed due to being maxed out at work and not having a lot of bandwidth for other things. I'll try and get back on the case in the next week or so

as its the same as the 306 rallye it may be worth posting on there too if there are MOQ's to meet?

how far down the process have you got? Dave that does the 205 covers may be worth talking to, he does seem particularly attentive to detail not only in the material but the pattern making and the legal side of things.

some might scoff at 800 for the 205 seat cover sets, but that's just what they cost, there's no getting round the costs of small batch handmade production.
