Best road in south west?

hi guys just wondering what everyones favourite public road is to drive along. Personally mine is cheddar gorge (awesome road! Especially at night with no other cars in the way!)

The Porlock toll roads would be my favourite, similar to Cheddar gorge with the tight hairpins and big cliffs, yet at the right time of year you won't see another car down there

A39 from Bridgwater to Williton is good after about 9pm when there's no-one on it. The B3224 between Bishop's Lydeard (Taunton) and Elworthy is another fun one, often go home that way

Not sure how far from Barh, about an hour an a half?

Clicky

New Road on that map is the main Porlock toll road, the other is the Worthy Toll Road but that's narrower and twistier and much lower speed.

They're both used as rally stages for the Somerset Stages.

forgot the budleigh salterton road as well, nice sharp left and right that gets my 106's on 3 wheels at as fast as the front end will hold it(25 mph)

If you looking for roads near bath theres a few accross the plains i know that are awesome, one from citterne to tilshead is mint, completely desolate most the time. Only problem round here is all the ood roads your are likely to meet a tractor, dear, badge, tank lol

Gorge is mint, remember racing up and down that in the summer usually swimming with cops though.

James, Remember me wheel spinning, bouncing off the limiter out the car park last year at the 106oc meet lol

A356 road from crewkerne to the A303 (Stoke sub hambdon juction) in Somerset. some fast corners in that one watch out for the lorries and tractors though......
A372 through seven bends (Aller to Bridgwater) in Somerset there is a little hump back bridge that gives you some great air if you hit it right.

Reynolds way near Street is a good one also and if you want to go on a longer drive (nearly an hour) then Crewkerne to West Bay (A3066 I beilve) Somerset to Dorset.

Porlock Toll Road takes some beating, especially if you have a mate to block the other end off for you!!

I used to do a few little circuits out of Newton Abbot when I lived there. Widecombe in the Moor is good, as is the main road past Hay Tor as you come out of Bovey Tracey, carrying on onto the moor. Also the road past the clay pits between Kingsteignton and the A38 is a good un.

Dartmoor is best done on a weekday afternoon out of season, to my mind, or crack of dawn in the summer. Remember, kill your speed, not a pony!
