1.4 turbo

hi all

toying with the idea of mating my s2rallye head with a 1.4 bottom end and turbo charging it for my hillclimb car im building ( aiming for class B1)

anyone had any experience with this , best turbo to go with , most power on standard internals , or any other general bits of information that might come in handy ?

regards - jack

Use a 1.4 xsi bottom end. It is cast iron not aluminum with cast iron sleeves. Or better, use the whole engine, it has practically the same head and cam.
A friend of mine had an ax gt (aluminium block) on which he put a turbo on. It was cracking the sleeves all the time, with the power around 195hp.
A Garret T25 turbo from a nissan SR20 should be fun. A little laggy, but still.

His was a 1.4 gt engine, which is a carb engine. He had a modified 1.0 single choke carb with some sort of 2 stage membrane and 3 squirts for the fuel...pretty trick carb that he did himself. He is from my country and never had any thread opened nor was on any of the forums. I believe he even didn't have a computer

I would advise you to get a standalone management unit, which brand should be decided upon choosing a tuner that will do the mapping. For a turbo engine I would advise something with knock control. DTA ecus don't have knock control, but OMEX and KMS do.
