Stinky S1

Why does my S1 16v smell of fuel so badly? Is this common? It's running a 4-2-1 and I think a pugsport with a large cone style filter on the inlet. Can't see any obvious fuel leaks but seems worse when you boot it and really bad when you've got the window open.
Ideas anyone???

Check that the breather pipe on the top of the fuel tank is connected. Sometimes they pop off the top of the tank meaning the fuel smell stays inside instead of underneath the car.

Thanks Matt, I'll check that although you would think it would be strong all the time if it was that but you never know.

Thinking about it, there's a carbon canister under the drivers side from wing, the pipe for that run along the drivers pillar down to the fuel tank, that could also be playing up.
