S2 speedo, milometer, temp gauge not working - help!

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, please be gentle...

I recently bought a S2 Rallye in blue, very happy with it so far. My first car for fun.

A few issues I need to sort out fairly urgently. Firstly, the speedo, milometer and trip gauge are not working.
Also, the temp and pressure gauges aren't working (i think).

The guy I bought it from said he drove over a bump and they stopped working after that impact.
The rev counter counter and petrol gauge work fine though, as does the lighting behind the dials, (though it seems that one bulb is gone as there is a dark patch).

Can anyone suggest what I should look into first? Could it be as simple as a loose connection to be pushed back in, or would it be more like a speed sensor replacement?

thanks in advance
Chris

The speed sensor bolts into the back of the gearbox next to the RH driveshaft seal. Should be electric with it being a series 2. Either that or check the connection into the back of the clocks.

Hi Mike, sorry for crazy slow response. Haven't been able to do any car stuff in several months!
I looked down into where the speed sensor bolts into the back of the gearbox. It all looked secure and normal.
Next step will be getting in behind the clocks and see if i can spot anything wrong there. It looks to be quite faffy for my rookie level of experience, but I need to just get stuck in!
cheers
