Stay with 8v power or go to 16v

So, i need little bit of advice from you guys!

Im running 8v 1.6
cat cams 645,puley,springs,reatilers,
headwork, 4-2-1 exhaust, s1 inlet, magnecore 8.5 leads, and mapped on stock ecu
i hit 143HP!!

So my plans are to buy wossners pistons, some conrods, maybe more agressive cam, ITB and standalone ecu.
And what power should i expect? 160-70?

or to go fully on 16v ?

You have to really want a modified 8v to justify the cost/bhp - i have a modified 8v (158bhp) because I like the noise, performance characteristics and the fact its the original engine to the car.....

Its not cost effective on a purely /bhp scale you have to want it for one or another of the reasons above...... or need it for regulatory purposes in Motorsport

Go team 8v! (Retro reference)

Heart says go 8v, having an 8v myself. Not sure you will need pistons and con rods to get close to 170 bhp, I certainly have not. What you do need is a good engine builder who can make the most of carefully selected parts that compliment each other.

It would seem in reading peoples blogs there are easier ways of getting similar power with a 16v engine - plus the potential for lots more, in which case head says go 16v
