Got some quick ones this evening, I really do love this car. Makes you wonder why you want for so many other ludicrously EXPENSIVE and powerful cars when simple and clean and original is so cool and fun...

Having said that, this CSL is completely awesome:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-miles/4911293

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on the custom size front number plate, I've kept original Peugeot F+R plates for originality.

Just thought the slightly shorter front plate of equal height to the bump strips neatens the front end quite nicely, and actually makes the car look bigger / wider? Won't be to everyone's taste I'm sure.

Could you not remove the plate al together and sticker the numbers/letters on it in the correct font? Would work on a white car.

Btw, i've replied on fb

I would go late May then! Cheapest time to go for accommodation too - nice and quiet as its after the busy winter and before the less busy summer, the dead zone (hardly any mountain traffic at all - huge plus).

Still a cool time of year (15-20C), plus you'll 100% have snow-less roads (It's very unlikely the roads would be snowy beyond mid April tbh), plus you'll still get snowy peaks at the top for great scenery!

Have a look at the roads around Gletsch, the Furka pass is pretty spectacular! Also google Sustenstrasse, that one, will make you make you cry. Switzerland in general I find is F**king beautiful, have the best time! Wish I was going now.

Got it! Replying now.

Unfortunately that wouldnt work for a few reasons, cool idea though. You'd get pulled over pretty quick for not having a reflective plate in the UK. I'm already skimping the rules lightly with the change in size and also not putting on a registered plate printers details at the bottom of the plate (looks cleaner!).

The area behind the plate on the S2 also has some contours in it!

Thanks a lot guys! Been a really nice job putting it all back to stock tbh. It's just like working on a new car, no missing bolts or bodged bits or rotten brackets.

I've got an aftermarket alarm at the moment, can't remember what that is off the top of my head... But I think my last job will be removing that, I had a fuse to the other day and the car was immobilised until I went to the petrol station for the correct one, seems they share that loop.

LukeS1Stoke - Will send A PM shortly. Currently skiing, hence slow reply!

My life goes to pieces in the winter.

Update on here!

Flew through the MOT - no advisories.

Car looks great and am having so much fun driving it. Still kept in y underground space under a cover so it stays pretty lovely and white.

Few snaps parked in Brighton the other day:

Then one more from later on that day after getting it's legs stretched through the south downs and back up to london via the surrey hills, awesome driving. Car is completely spot on, doesn't burn any oil, no temp variances, no strange noises or rattles etc.

Having owned two rallyes before which were both the 'normal' amount or temperamental, it's really a refreshing experience.

Couple of bits i am looking for help with, i managed to get hold of a filter box (thanks martin!) and the resonator pipes for the airbox but am missing the circled piece below:..

If anyone could potentially:

-Let me know where i can buy one
-check part number for me
-sell me one
- measure up and advice what i should order to replace this myself

Thant would be really useful!

Still on the look out for:

-Original S2 Rallye steering wheel (NON AIRBAG), Can swap for airbag wheel / OMP WRC / buy from you within reasonable price.

-Black battery cover

-Used 2 inch pugsport, good condition. (I know I SAID i wanted a stock rallye but, its just more fun this way.)

Charlie

Thanks pal!

Also found some time this evening to get these b pillar vynils on, this car came with them as an option ticked with the GTI spoiler, although I've removed the spoiler I feel these are tasteful and 'Rallye' enough to rock.

Before

After

Cleans the look of the car up a bit, and gives it the S1 feel!

Cheers Harv, just getting the last bits of the airbag together having sourced everything i need!

Will get a pic up of completed efforts tomorrow, also planning to give the car a full clay, polish, wax etc so will post pictures.

This is the last change to make on the car before its back to completely standard! (apart from the OMP wheel)... Perfect timing to fit the Pugsport next weekend

Yeah I remember this car being up for sale a few years ago when I was looking, It was lovely! I nearly went to see it but bought an indigo 16v job instead.

Managed to get airbox all back into place! So so satisfying. Never thought I would find all the right bits. Car is much more fun to drive without a huge BOOMING noise on throttle between 3-5k rpm.

Pic isn't great but bay is now without K&N induction kit + dodgy 'cooling system' + strut brace, has a nice original airbox and ECU cover.

Gave the car a full detail today.

G101
Tar remover
Clay
Polish
Wax
Plastics UV protected
Carpet out wet vac
Seats wet vac

Feels so good to be driving it so stock now, airbox was the last piece of the puzzle. Ironically I'm now ready to get the brand new pugsport on next weekend. Obvioulsy keeping original, I think we're all agreed that the scorpion is a tastful OEM+ mod

I'm off for a drive.

Just noticed it's an xCD, probably bought from round Brighton somewhere? That's where my first one came from.

Looking great.

Cheers Harv, I actually have an old photo of the car being picked up from the dealership on the day of purchase with the guy i bought the car from shaking hands with the mangers exchanging keys!

It's originally from Yeoman's Peugeot in Worthing so you're right.

Shiny bits just arrived to my office too:

That place is around the corner from my house. They certainly know their market, nothing but pristine (with crazy prices) cars pass through it and nothing ever seems to sit for long.

As SimonR said, he always has lovely stuff in stock, but the prices at always that bit on the high side (imo). But still, if he starts a trend for Rallye prices to rise, then so be it.

Yeah they told me that the last one was bought on the spot by a collector, so people with cash will just grab one for 10k and hold on to it, its still relatively very cheap if you have the space. Its not like a service would cost you 1200 quid like most appreciating classics!
