the best rallye quotes!!

please can you help me

I'm looking for some good quotes from rallye people about the rallye and the register....

could be about the car itself, or maybe about the club, what it means to you, what it is all about, etc

examples from me would be.......

"thanks to the club, I've made some great friends for life"

"driving the rallye never fails to put a smile on your face!"

and one from Vicki Butler-Henderson when she test drive the S2....."this car may only be wearing its underpants, but that way you can really feel its muscles" !!!

How about (about the S1): This is a Jekyll and Hyde of a car - a little old lady could own one and pootle about town very comfortably with no idea of what mayhem is unleashed if you rev it above 5.5k!!

"Why on earth have you bought a chav car??"

This is the kind reaction i get from my 'less-than-automotively-educated' friends, who lets face it clearly don't appreciate the finer four-wheeled machines in life! But then i guess that wasn't the sort of quote you were after though haha

btw. Mine is an xsi, so maybe they would understand more if it were a Rallye.....? Probabaly not, the cretins

I've seen it so many times, when people sell a Rallye, get something 'better' and then end up in a Rallye again. I've even said it myself. It has to be:

They all come back...

Yes, they are painted steelies.

The 106 Rallye, empties your pockets of all your money and brings tears of anger to your eyes, but you still couldn't stand to see it gone.

It's not just a 106...

"Electric windows? Nope. Electric sunroof? No. Central locking? Hmm no. Alloys? Nope. Air con? No. Power steering? Nah" Ok, so what HAS it got? A MASSIVE grin factor!

I cant really remember where I saw this. I think it may have been Jazzles signature.

"S1 Rallye - As sideways as you like"

Or one I use alot would be "You drive one, then you get an opinion"

Im aware this is after the new year, but It may help.

Various quotes that stick in my mind, from reviews, track day meetings & friends;

"the wheels look like marie biscuits and it has a rainbow down the side"

"it provokes the 17 year old inside of you"

"grab it by the scruff of its neck and throw it down your favourite B road"

"not bad for french clutter"

"that thing is like a pensioner's terrier"

My old house mate after he picked it up from the other side of town for me (I wasnt well, so sent him to get it back from my mates house the other side of town!) Bare in mind it took him an hour and a half to do a half hour walk/drive back...

"Jack...Your lights dont work properly, your left turn indicator is temperamental, there is a funny knock from the suspension up front and it some times grind into the second gear, But F**K me thats a grate little Shed to drive!!"

and another mate who drove it with his gf quotes were

Louie - "I think i want one!!"

His GF - "Iv never been so scared!!"

I know i dont have a rallye, but the most famous question I get has to be "What the hell have you got that heap for?"

The simple answer to that is, "It's shockingly fast", and a common one "Be quiet... it'll beat yours!"
