Some tools, enough petrol, a helmet if you have one, money, food (if you're staying from 9am till 5pm you might get hungry lol) and anything else you can think of really. I'm waiting for the rules etc to be sent to me via email then i'll post them up in this thread.

Bob, I'll come down with you and Rajj. Text/Ring nearer the time, let me know what time.

Just realised, I have a helmet I use for rallying, so can use that! d'oh (this thread must really make me look like a 'tard )

I'm also up for the BBQ idea, sounds champion.

Do we have to let you know in advance about the passengers situation? or can we just swap passengers on the day for different runs etc?

Can't wait for this, should be a reet larf! we should try and get performance french cars involved, shall I fire off an email?

Yeah go for it jimmers. As for passengers/spectators.. as many as you want. I might end up with about 5 mates coming down. 2 driving and the rest spectating or jumping in as passengers.

Kemixx - Provided the #15 - FREE SPACE is still up for grabs, and it's alright for a non 106, is it alright to bring our 205 rally car for a bit of tarmac testing?

obviously pay twice.

EDIT: just realised - perfect opportunity to get rid of the 4 tyres that came with my rallye, they're sat in the shed doing sod all!

Cool, its a 1.6 205 Challenge car, so not going to be blisteringly fast but I assure you the driver is!

presume there will be ample parking on the day as the 205 includes Van + Trailer?

Loads of parking mate. The main strip, and the bit as you enter could probably hold about 200 odd cars

Everyone attending should read this according to the course secretary:

Quote:
SHENSTONE & DISTRICT CAR CLUB LTD

CURBOROUGH SPRINT COURSE?

ABBREVIATED HIRING RULES - PRIVATE HIRE ? TOP LOOP?

1.Private hire means use of the sprint course hard surface only for testing and driving, not for any organised competition with declared results. The time of hire is negotiable, but will normally be booked for 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm for half-day sessions. Access to site is permitted before your session but no actual running on the course must take place before 10am or after 5pm.?

2.Spectators other than associated personnel or club members should not be encouraged and the main gate must be kept closed as far as practicable.?

3.NO MORE THAN ONE CAR AT A TIME is to be driven at speed on the track. A maximum of 15 cars is permitted. ALL DRIVERS MUST SIGN THE INDEMNITY, which must be returned to the course secretary after the hire. Note the Road Traffic Act still applies to drivers as this is not an authorised event under it.?

4.CARS MUST BE SILENCED (to MSA regulations) and noise must be kept to a minimum.?

5.The area between the paddock gate and the Sprint course start must not be used for this type of event. The paddock gate or the access by the flagpole can be used for entry to the track.?

6.If continuous running required (e.g. for running in) use the top loop of the circuit only, i.e. turn right after crossing the finish line when running clockwise.?

7.Course markers. These are located on the line between paddock & start, and at the start of the "rumble strips". They screw into "cat's eye" sockets and should be left in place when you leave.?

8. All buildings must be locked after use. The site must be left clean and tidy. Any damage must be reported immediately to the Course Secretary.?

9.SAFETY & MEDICAL; Hirers are responsible for fire, emergency and medical equipment and are recommended to organise qualified medical personnel to be in attendance. Note a telephone is not available on site.?

10. INSURANCE.

Hire for non-MSA permit activities carries public liability insurance which covers Shenstone & District Car Club and the Landowner for a minimum limit of indemnity of ?5,000,000 any one accident, and indemnity in respect of their legal liability to third parties arising from the hire. The charge for this is included in the fee payable for each hiring session. IMPORTANT - the liability that might be incurred by drivers carrying passengers whilst testing at speed is not normally covered by insurance and drivers should be made aware of this fact, however carrying passengers in road cars may be covered by normal car policies. SDCC and the Landowners do not recommend the carrying of passengers and will accept no responsibility for it taking place. ?

12. CONTROL AND RESPONSIBILITY.

In order to maintain insurance cover when the SDCC policy is in effect, we are required to appoint a representative (normally the main hirer) who must be present ALL THE TIME THE COURSE IS BEING DRIVEN ON AT SPEED. Such person will be responsible to SDCC for ensuring compliance with these rules. ?

The above is an extract of the full hiring rules, which are available on request.?

So if people turn up any time after 10 that'll be fine. I was originally told 9 but I guess not.
I assume only friends of people attending and club members can spectate by what rule 2 says, so Jimmers, the french car mag thing he might have had a problem with anyway! I'll give everyone the indemnity at some point during the day and i'll pick up and drop off the keys and money. Only 1 car on track at a time (obviously), and we'll be using the gate next to the entrance and the gate next to the flagpole I assume (marked in lime green on the picture on the front page). As stated in the rules also, carryiong of passengers may not be covered by the public liability insurance that you're usually covered by when paying the £32 for the day, so if you take a passenger on track its at yours and their own risk.

Not sure if there will actually be a rep there or not, unless someone will turn up randomly during the day. I'm sure Dave told me on the phone it was purely left up to us but we'll see.

I'll take a brush so we can sweep up anything if someone makes a mess on track.
