106 Rallye in Aus

Been on the scene with 106 rallyes before this is my 6th, but took a large break of maybe 10 years and now have another one.. (midlife crisis)

I live in the gold coast Australia but come back to the uk 2-3 times a year and bought another one recently hopefully to restore and then export over to Australia as a personal import.. this is sat at my father in-laws in west Yorkshire.

Safe to safe I pretty please and it has been dry stored for the past 3-4 years, also happy with the price I paid.

Going to changing the carpet, wheels and gearstick back to standard, and also put all the graphics back on as its missing some..

Anyway.. just to say hi.. steve...

Just proves they have made it out to aus and can be registered..

hey mate, welcome along!

i dunno what happened to this car but it looked far better when i sold it.

i bought it off a kid near me in a right state, the quarter was kicked in and it had a door with holes in it. previousl it had belonged to a friend of a friend.

i got it and planned to use it as a daily but i also ended up with a gti.
having too many cars my mate said that he would love it if it had a 16v fitted. so i dropped in my 60k jp4 engin and sold it on. my mate fitted brand new koni adjustables and the team dynamics. after a while he needed a bigger car and i ended up buying it back. i was working in a bodyshop at the time and i got the quarter repaired , had the car resprayed apart from the roof, fitted a gti rear axle and then a newer interior. i think the carpet ended up in my rallye, so sorry about that!

i ended up swapping it with a kid in milton keynes who had planned to tart up the bay and make it a minter. that was about 2010 i think. i've seen it surface a few times in the last year or so but no idea whats happened to it in the mean time!

some pics here.

apologies but i cant get photobucket to let me copy the image links

wow its had some history then, because I bought it off a guy in in north Yorkshire, looks really tidy on body work would explain why the graphics are missing on one side, I was going to fully service the engine when I am over in 2 weeks, and pretty much change everything to a standard looking rallye,
carpet, clocks steering wheel,
