Robinsons Motor Vehicles

Herro i am Mr Robinson and i have an addiction to french tripe!

Today i own a 106 GTi and a 106 Series 2 Rallye

My GTi is a track car, work in progress!

The spec is pretty complete and reserved, i've had screaming DTH bodied, solid liftered machines before. I want a car that i can track regularly without issue.

Drivetrain:
Standard fully overhauled J4 engine
Saxo VTS heat exhanger
Green enclosed air filter modified to fit
Raceland manifold
Pugsport exhaust
Spoox Mounts
S2 rallye box with Quaife ATB diff

Chassis:
Full weld in OMP cage with added harness bar
Currently no brakes, will fit something suitable.
GrpN Bilsteins all round
Faulkners custom springs up front
21mm torsion bars and 24mm ARB at back
Uprated wishbone bushes with new balljoints
Brand new rear beam with polyrace bushes
Various strengthening plates
Few sets of wheels with road tyres and R888s

Interior:
Flocked Base Model Dashboard
Saxo VTS Digital Dials
Stripped bare and resprayed body coloured
Carbon Fibre Mini Doorcards
Cobra Imola S Buckets
OMP 3" 6 point harnesses
TRS Helmet Hammock

Exterior:
Resprayed Flat Mid Grey
Debadged
Smoked repeaters
Satin black front badge
Fog lights removed & Streamline S2 Rallye Rep Vents Fitted

Think that's it? No plans really apart from to keep it tip top, probably fit a JP4 lump and that's it.

My S2 Rallye is a commuting car, it is also WIP. Excuse the filth...

Spec:
Standard really, just with a nice head unit and some focal component speakers.
It needs a lot of work but i'm on the case
Got a Saxo VTS in for breaking at the moment so i will be pillaging a 16v conversion loom & ECU, and will fit a JP4 with the various bits scrounged from the J4 engine. Will be tidying up the bodywork with a new front bumper, readjusting bonnet & full machine polish, clay, sealant and wax! And will be replacing all of the suspension & welding rusty areas for MOT

Cheers, it looks a bit of a mess at the moment as it's all in bits! Just finished putting the engine back together today, i've not driven it since september The rear beam is off as i need to weld up the boot floor etc and the old rear beam was wrecked, so got a brand new beam and painted up the trailing arms and fitted new peugeot bearings and seals, then when that's all done i need to fit some brakes and take it for a spin

Rallye has picked up a flat tyre just running around so i need to sort that out tomorrow

Both look really good dude! Did you buy the Gti from a chap on the owners club? I'm sure I remember the build thread. I think i've been out in your old car at Brands, a guy called Ryan owns it now right? ITB'd Saxo?

Oh and bring one of them to the Ace meet on monday!

Hi

Yeah i bought it from a guy on the owners club, i've been spending the past 8 months repairing the bodgery that was done on everything that he touched!!! Plus upgrading bits, it only came with cheap OMP seats and spax PSX which in his opinion were "amazing". I tend to call them shite lol

Yes Ryan owns one of my old cars, myself and a friend build it up over the years to what it was at brands hatch(just with different wheels and seats) shame it was wet though that day as that car is savage in the dry! I went off the car after a few months of using it in it's finished state. Sounds like nothing else though PS DTH bodies, solids, PS manifold and 2.5" system with single silencer is immense!

I would come to the Ace meet but i've got a lot on at the moment, if i can knock the rallye into shape by sunday afternoon i may pop along

Here are a few vids of the old car. No rule breaking honest

Hi Lewis Old skool reunite

The C2 VTS is my mothers, i'm back home at the moment, sold my clio trophy, 3 series, XSi track car etc etc and moved back, invested money in a new business venture which should be well worth it in the long run. Bonus is that i can chose to take time off to mess with cars when i want But bad thing is that i'm on low wage, living at home and hating it, until things pick up a bit! Worst thing is that i had a weeks work lined up this week and couldn't get there

Christ, serial french car owner you are!

It did sound immense, stupidly quick even in the wet.
