think im gonna keep it as it is. Lots of people have said nice xsi then have a big shock at the lights.lol.goes realy well miles.especially with the close ratio box. Also quite a good engine spec.so it does go very well
but i aint been up against another gti yet so will have to see how much of an improvement it is over a standard one if you get me

if its the one thats always parked by waitrose then yeah.looks clean as!!if it is then ive heard it goes well.yeah,is a sleeper!
this is the engine spec in the advert when i bought the car

1993 106 XSi 16v (engine from 1998 GTi).

Car purchased Feb 2005, 16v conversion completed by myself summer 2005.
On road since Oct 2005 having been mapped by Wayne (Chipwizards) at Jamsport. Car has done 80k miles, engine has done 66k miles.
New head gasket and head refurbed (valve seats relapped and stem seals replaced) by myself Aug/Sep 2006 due to oil weeping from between head and block (perished o-ring). No oil or water consumed since.

Raceland 4-2-1 stainless manifold heatwrapped.
Bilstein suspension (-35mm) rear professionally lowered to suit.
Thicker GTi front ARB.
Std 14" wheels on Goodyear Eagle F1s all round.
Peugeot Sport GpN decat stainless exhaust.
Simota forced air induction kit with replacement Peugeot Sport 'Green' cone filter.
1.4 XSi gearbox (shorter ratios for quick acceleration).
Originally RRd at 134bhp, but that was before it had a good service and also since head was refurbed it feels more powerful.

1.6 XSi mint interior (plus grey carpet) much nicer than the stock 1.4 one.
Colour coded electric mirrors.
GTi high level rear brake light.
The usual XSi extras - electric mirrors, remote c/l etc. all working as they should.

Alpine white bodywork in absolute immaculate condition.

Fantastic little car. The mapping is superb and the power curve is dead straight - it just pulls and pulls

Roads were pretty nice actually - especially over the Black Mountains between Abergavenny and Talgarth (sp?). My mum drove reallllly sloooow though so it was a bit boring

Would have been good fun in the Rallye but mums Suzuki means mum pays for fuel!

My mum refuses to go in the Rallye anyway - she hates it!
