help wanted a.s.a.p!!!!

hi. my xsi 16v is starting to go wrong all at once first there was a knocking when i turned left which i thort was the driveshaft but now its whineing like a rally car!!!
then was out with spud earlia and i pulled off on my speedo has stopd working
what are your recamendations and also where and how do i put a new speedo cable on.its running a standard xsi box and its on an xsi loom.
help needed ergently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol...mine started missing like hell (bogging down) when I picked miles up, an then revving at 2k for no apparent reason at idle, although I filled the tank up with optimax an it stopped doing it

Guna get some new plugs an coilpack 2mrw, an clean all the sensors

Iv got to sort my speedo cable out at the weekend. Looking at the haynes manuel it doesnt seem hard just a case of disconecting the cable behind the dash and the speedo drive on the gearbox and then connecting a new one in.
Aint sure bout you engine probs tho, my mates just done a 16v conversion on a XSI and he's havin a couple of problems aswell.

i thort it was an easy job like you said ukgeeza. engines not the problem, its the box or the driveshafts me thinks

could be your gear box maybe cos if youve lost speedo that runs of the gearbox, driveshafts are connected to the gearbox and whining noise could be the gearbox that what i think anyhow, dont know how u can check thou

it might be your alternator whining as mine is making that noise due to a crushed bearing. I haven had chance to fit my new one yet.
