That's young Andrew bush selling it. Good lad and a top class navigator. Had a real good going wee saxo kit car for a long time.

I was talking to him at the Sligo rally, he was selling the Patterson pace notes.
He was telling me about the head at the time and I took his number but I thought
it was a bit pricey for a head with no lifters or cams.

"Works" stuff is only generally relevant as part of the package it's designed for and that will usually include some regs based compromises that Clubman builds won't have to adhere to. They are usually worn out too by the time they filter down to this level. Just about every part I've seen has been anyway. Also we're not privy to the logic it was designed with, although it can be interesting to hear people's theories on that, we rarely if ever know for sure. The C2R2 Max engine for example while obviously not a top line "Works" unit, is a bizarre combination of seemingly disparate thinking and quite likely wasn't designed with a cohesive attitude. There is also the difference between "Works" development from a great team of the right people pulling in the same direction, and the not so effective teams; for example Peugeot's BTCC Supertouring success relative to the Nissan, Honda and even Renault (Williams) effectiveness. All that glitters isn't gold.
Bear in mind too that the objectives and targets of a "Works" engine are probably not going to perform as well, short and long term, as a well thought out aftermarket engine.

That engine was one of several for andrew. At the time it was a refresh of genuine works evo 3B Oreca development engine built into a new block after a previous big name builder put it together and it had lost all its midrange. It had the most crazy cams I have ever seen in a 1600cc engine. Any info get required get in touch.
