have started on the rear suspension a bit more lately, got this watts link fairly cheap

The fitting kits that came with it is for mk1/2 so making new oens to replace these

And here are the new mounts, i made yesterday

They need a little shaping to get them to fit spot on but are close enough for the moment

Also been working on the tunnel a bit too, first off card template to mate up new tunnel to old one

Once i had done them, over to the workshop to make them in steel

Then onto the bulkhead bit which was a bit more exciting Obviously need to make a couple more bits to finish it off

The whole lot together so far

Also added a few holes inthe bulkhead to get to bolts on top of gearbox and water rail bolts

Pretty impressed with those new watts linkage mounts you made up. I'm guessing you've got a fairly extensive workshop?

Well has been a long time since i touched the car have been busy helping my other halfs parents with new houses and stuff anyway here is a quick update.

New coilover units which are 18" rather than 12" of previous ones

Adjustable diff which i got off of my workmates escort, needs a bit of machining but for 50 i can moan this will be giving me some fun on roundabouts

Some wheels i picked up cheap, not sure if i will use them yet

I also won this interior for a goor price on ebay, Was recovered last year and then stored and not used since. Came with new carpet and door cards also

Onto the rear suspension again Have decided to change my 4 link mounts so here is the work on that. Also changed my rose joints to 1/2 so i can mount my shocks in the same position.

And the boxes being tried in the shell, still need some slight fettling but pretty good so far

Passenger side

Drivers side

What a thread!
I assume you've considered MiniLites?
Are you caging it? Using it just for fun?
Forget the in-laws house, keep giving us updates!

Yeh i thought about minilites but they get overly used on classic fords really, i know they are nice but thought id try something different I am not caging it as i actually want to be able to take passengers in it, which i have not been able to for years with my 2 seater pug. Hopefully it will be my everyday car so has to be relatively comftable. I got to keep in with the in laws I am going to try and bring a welder home from work soon so i can make some better progress. Thanks for the comments

And just for now the rear coilover towers that i made last weekend in between welding up the back of the pug

a weld i was fairly happy with and once its welded in the car i wont ever see it again

And finally with the damper sat in place, as you can see i still need to make the tops up

it depends how you go about the ecu side of things. I will be going with either a very early 2l ecu non pats from a mondeo or a focus 2l ecu and just using the whole keyset with original immobilser etc

well my boss went to new york for xmas on friday so that ment the anglia came into work

Strut tops done

Towers tacked in place

I then added some bracing between the two to keep them in their place, also helps take some strain off the arches

Strut in place

And back down on the floor, finally with working suspension. I ended up welding all the 4 link boxes, strut towers and some other bits id cut out

Hopefully this week i will get the bulkhead/tunnel nailed as well

Thanks for looking

thanks for the nice comments people I havnt had much time to work on it due to work being so damn busy already this year. Heres a few more pics of some little bits ive done over the last couple of weeks

I have raided the caterham parts bin at work and liberated the master cylinder, windscreen wiper and a selection of pedal blanks

And then the mount for the pedal box

And finally the pedals in the same place as originally, Also the brake pedal pushes the master cylinder very well

finally had some time away from painting this weekend, so after a very long time a small update for you. Ive been putting this job off for a long time for no real reason just didnt fancy it so this morning went up my workmates and took some measurements from his mk1 escort then off to the workshop to start chopping. So heres some pics

First off make a jig to aid with positioning

Cutting has begun

Jig centralised on car

The offer some top mount plates up

I may neew to wind the tca's and steering arms in

I may go into work 2moro and finish the mounts off and tidy them up a bit, after ive watched the f1 of course
