Engine position

Does anyone know if the 8v and 16v blocks (without cylinder head) seat in the exact same position in the engine bay? Also are the dimensions the same?

Im inclined to say yes matt. Due to the fact all engine mounts will mount all engines haha. As my 16v engine is mounted by all 3 8v engine mounts, and that hasnt hindered or fouled anything else in the bay.

Thanks mate. I'm inclined to agree as that was my logic too, but I just need to guarantee it.

infact matt im going to say YES! heres my new thinkings.
gearbox positioning says all bellhousing bolts on the block must be in the same place across all TU blocks saying depth and width must be the same and the driveshaft centre bearing mount must also be in the same place which also backs it up i s'pose.
agree?

As a side note, Satchell BE kit moves the engine to the left slightly, better belt access and weight distribution and doesn't sit down at the box end like some other BE kits.
