No more F1 on BBC TV

Sad times, but at least it's still (partly) on freeview somewhere:

And without adverts during the race.

Sounds like a good idea really - C4 can use ad revenues to help fund the cost, Beeb get to duck out of what was a bit of an expensive agreement for them.

A lot will depend on their format and presenters.
I have always liked the post-production from the BBC.

The pre and post race coverage always leaves me cold, even during the golden years at the Beeb before they went part time I couldn't watch. Too much personality and guesswork, not enough technical stuff for me.

I think there are some good people in the team and it would be good to see some carried across. For me the most important thing is that it's still on free view somewhere.

I did see an amusing comment on Twitter about how that now the BBC has "dropped" Top Gear they can no longer afford F1. Not quite true, but there is a lot riding on the success of the new format Chris Evans will be fronting.

I meant the production, certainly not the coverage.
I hope Suzi does not grace my screen again as I think she is useless, clueless and very annoying.

Agreed there Mike!

It'd be interesting to see some concrete revenue streams for how much Top Gear was worth to the Beeb, quite a bit I think.
