Garage session in Cheltenham?

Anyone interested in something along these lines:

brief intro:
I live at home with my parents and am fortunate to have a decent sized garage with workbench, welder, all my own tools, and a PIT!

What i was thinking is the following:
One sunday we (the rallye register) try to get 4 or 5 cars down to my place near cheltenham (15 mins from M5 J11a, 40mins from oxford, 20mins from cirencester, 45 from swindon) to have a tinker and a 'service' day!

if we had 4 cars, we could do 1.5 hours on each car, whether that be just tinkering and sharing idea's or welding parts, sorting problems and using everyone's knowledge and experience to help other members!
something like 10-6 with an hour for lunch in the local pub, then if wanted, a bit of a drive round the local area whcih i know very well, and have some awesome roads locally!

All i would ask in return for my time, my tools, consumables (zip ties, brake cleaner etc) is a bottle or two of vino rouge for my father (to keep the old git happy)!

i'm not doing this to earn money (even though i'd love to) , purely to build the local community of rallye owners, help other members, and meet more people within the rallye register!

I'm not aksing for conformation, simply if there would be an interest in this kind of thing?

Regards
Charlie

i'll admit that it's been bought on by the thread here:

http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2...465#post612465

also i feel it's right to say (but do you think it's right to say this?) this is only offered to full members of the rallye register!

i also can order parts in advance for you to pay on the day, from my local motorfactors, they have already said they'lll do deals on 5 or more identicle items (airfilters, oil filters, etc etc)

what's your thought's on numbers, i think 4 would be practical, purely because then you get a good amount of time with/in/on each car (i don't have a rallye at the mo) and my drive aint massive, and it's a single car garage!

yeh i think 4 cars would be more than adequate. Would be good to get to know people better and as you say have access to a bigger knowledge bank when working on the cars.

Nick if we have air tools etc i reckon we could do a clutch in 1.5 hours. trouble is with big things like that there is always potential for something to go wrong...

I need to fit braided lines at the front and do an oil and filter change

well i have a few things to do but im not sure whats achievable. Im going to be doing a 16v conversion on bike carbs soon so i want to start tidying up the engine bay a bit as it has some rust. I have a full set of braided lines and a bias valve i need to plumb in at some point to sort out my brake bias problem! will jsut have to see whats achievable.

with a pit how long do you recon braided lines and a bias valve could be done? surely the hardest part would be getting the old lines out then its jsut a case of drilling a few holes for the new lines? think it would be pushing it though, and possibly not worth the risk?

Count me in then, i'm likely to be very very hungover from the rugby on Friday + Saturday. I'd be careful with brake lines, if we mess it up you're staying at Charlies!
