rare these days

so last week i was lucky enough to get to work on a citroen ax gti , must be honest its a spanker , its only done 41k !! , it needed all new brakes as it had been standing since 2009 so had all seized . pics arent the best as it was quite rushed but would like to know how many people have owned these ? also the driving position is so much better than the gti lol just makes u wanna go !! wondering now if the gearknob would fit a gti ?

I loved my AX GTi. Absolutely stonking little car, especially with a 1.3 Rallye engine and box in it. Driving it on its door handles round the 'Ring, hitting the rev limiter in 5th on the approach to Schwedenkreuz and telling people that it's only a 1.3 are some of my highlights of French car ownership. RIP little HOA.

Awesome! I had a 1.4d AX for a while, iirc 31k on the clock, was spotless and an absolute hoon to drive!

Hehe that's a cracking car Welshpug, doesn't look much different to my next door neighbour's diesel one!

Hers is a thing of beauty, only done about 50k miles, the engine bay is a work of art.

My ax gti will be that nice again ..... ..someday

Actually think my 1.4i (75bhp spi) 3 stud forte is as much fun as the gti was as standard

Who's gti is that? Are they on AXOC? I don't recognize the reg

You wanna stick 16vs in it, if just to see the comical clearance between inlet and bulkhead and the lack of space around the Mani/rad fan

Gearknob won't fit. The shaft inside the knob is different, e.g. turned a few degrees so it will sit loose and pointing to the footspace of the passenger
