Come on then Dave, now you've finished(ish) your first rally in the Maxi, I feel it's time for some updates on this

(just try not to make us all feel too bad about that state/progress of our cars)

I hate the fooking thing.. so much so that I even bought another €150 car and cut the roof off it.
I will either make a carbon roof or just replace the skin.

Are carbon roofs frowned upon on the stages? I would guess so but if not save it for the Maxi.

This looks tidy though. Love it how you just knock up carbon/Kevlar bits like nothing, ever thought of selling some of your work?

Matty - carbon roofs can't be used in rallying or racing as far as I'm aware. I know there are a few regs differences between UK and ROI though.

There is a 106 in my championship with a cf roof. The scrutineer has cleared it and I can't find anything in the bob about them being illegal.
I'm sure I've read it somewhere though, but it might have been in a specific championships regs.

I thought as much. I'd argue they are good enough for circuit use, but, I'd be cautious of using it Rallying. Circuits don't tend to have exposed trees, telegraph poles, walls...

Are you going to change the exhaust by any chance?

There is makie up half stainless system on it with Scorpion back box. I did change
the 3" inward rolled tail pipe for a 3" outward rolled but if I got a nice 2" Pugsport at
right money I would replace it all.

Afraid all my funds have gone into my 97 M3 this summer, if the offer still stands I'd gladly take you up on it though? I'd love a look around the 106 Maxi.
