Arrow Wiper motor problems - help!

Ok, my wiper motor doesn't appear to be working and I can't figure out what's wrong. It is wired up correctly I think as I double checked it, however, you can see from my incredibly boring video below that it doesn't appear to be turning the spindles correctly. Can you guys check and out and let me know your thoughts - and try not to fall asleep during the rivetin video

Thanks,

Lewis

It is 'parking' in the wrong place.
If no one else solves it prior to tomorrow evening I'll have a look at mine and see where you might have gone wrong.
I suspect it is wear you have positioned the linkages.

Ok thanks mate. Yea I thought it was something like that. I had it apart for powder coating so it's possible that it's not been put back together correctly. I did have an issue before where i'd relocated the cable underneath and it stuck and the wipers wouldn't move so i'd thought perhaps it had buggered the motor, but it seems to work just not as it should.....hopefully it's a simple fix. Had to cut a 15 Raychem heatshrink sleeve off to check the wiring ahhh

operate wiper till it self parks, slacken nut on motor, move arm, nip spindle nut back up, test with arms off screen if possible.

The arm mounted to the motor that does the full 360 need to be taken off and turned 180 degrees.

This car will never see rain anyway so why bother?

Thanks dude.

This is how it's fixed currently, turning it, or flipping it 180 won't change a lot will it?

Yea purely for MOT, she ain't ever getting wet!

Bastards, I do hope it'll get an MOT!

If you turn the main linkage 180 degrees, the arm will stop in the down position instead of the up position

Over here cars over 30 years old don't need an MOT.. Maybe Lewis is aiming for that

Thanks Dave, I think I know what you mean. I will whip it off tonight and have a look. Appreciate that. I am giving the Irish a bad name with my idiocy!

30 years - not long to go then! I am genuinely wondering about MOT time though. No cat, high emissions, noisy as fuck (perfect lol), but I wonder what with the new strict rules how it will work out.....

I took photo's of it whilst removing (albeit a bit shite as old iPhone):

I got this sorted last night after about 40 minutes of faffing taking it off, adjusting it, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting, testing, taking off, refitting, adjusting, refitting etc.

Turns out it doesn't need to be quite 180 degrees round but a lot further round than I had it. For reference, if anyone plans to takes theirs to bits in the future, this is how it should be reassembled to ensure it functions properly.

Wipers now back on and all working AOK - Woooo!
