Black roof lining / carpet

Hi guys.

This will be more for the gti owners I would have thought but has any one dyed there roof lining and carpets black ? Iíve read a few articles on pistonheads but would sooner have information from someone that has actually done it in a 106!

Thanks

TBH haven't heard of anyone dying their roof lining, you might struggle to find anyone. Ive had a few but never had the urge to dye the roof lining

I’m the same mate, on my 9th 106 but I’m keeping this one FOREVER ! Haha
Just stripped it all out but it’s in a horrible state from the sunroof leaking and 20 years of filth.
I have a bmw that has a black roof lining and it really creates a nice feel to the interior, if it would fit I’d pull it out of that !

How odd.....I also have a BMW with black roof lining, you are right, there's definitely something about the black roof lining that gives it a different feel.

Just use shoe dye on the head lining and apply it with a swab.

Takes a while but it'll stay soft and it wont feel like shit.

As for the carpet, rip it all out and just buy stretchy black carpet on ebay and glue it in with spray adhesive.
