ECU IAW 8P.40 locked or not?
How can you tell or see from the outside, serial number or so, whether an 1.3 ECU has the immobiliser function or not?
I have got a spare ECU, but don't know whether this one is locked or not. I haven't got the possibility to plug it in and test it, as my car is not running atm. |

I'd be interested to know this too - I'e got a complete 1.3 engine that I've rebuilt with loom and ECU that I'm putting into my 106. It'd be good to be able to confirm that there is no immo on the ECU before I try to install.

I asked Wayne (Of Chipwizards) this very question the other day, since this ECU is his specialty.
He says there's no way of telling from the outside if it has an immobiliser or not. |

ok, thanks, so just need to try and see if the car starts or not whether it's locked or not.
