S2 RALLYE shell/project

Well i think the time may have come for me to finally let go of my RALLYE. When i got it back 3 years ago i said to myself that i would never let it again.

In the 3 years ive had it back, all ive managed to do is strip it down and do some minor rust repairs to the front, and to repair the floor pan/arches. I just dont seem to have the time or spare funds to get anywhere with it. Which im gutted about.

The shell is quite solid to be fair. I stripped back the front arches and there were a few spots of rust that needed addressing but nothing structural. Both front gussets/jacking points are mashed (i do have a pair of genuine replacements that will be forsale seperately).

Rear arches are done, just needs abit of work to the rear towing mount. But apart from that i dont think there is much else majorly wrong.

The car is completely stripped but is mounted to a trolley. Ive got a rear beam which ill through in with the car but i dont think its all that good. Car comes with doors, bonnet, boot, wings, sills and arches. There is no front screen in the car.

I also have a full interior that will be forsale seperately aswell. Good condition but could do with a bit of clean up.

There is a 16v engine aswell, which is split that will also be for sale seperately.

If the buyer of the shell wants all the extras im sure we could reach some arrangement.

Now for pricing, i need a bit of help. Been out of the loop for while so dont really know what any of this goes for, but i have a vague idea.

Shell with all panels/doors and rear beam - 800 ??

Full interior inc. seat belts and plastics - 300 ??

16v Engine (unknown history) - 200 ??

Gti gearbox - 100 ??

Front replacement gussets (ive seen the left ones on ebay around 100, and as the right ones are even rarer its got to be worth double that if not more) - 350 ??

Now if these prices seem way off, please let me know and ill adjust accordingly. Like i say im not up to speed on current values!!

Pics to follow. Im based in Manchester.

I have no history on the engine mate. Was what was ib the car when i bought it. Its been sat for 3 years out if the car. Its currently split in 2. I reckon it would be in need of a refresh. But then again it might be decent. Ive not looked at it properly enough to make a proper judgement.

Hia pal. Yeah I've still got the engine sitting here. It's split at the moment so would benefit from a rebuild. Unknown history.

Got the head, bottom end, and inlet.

Cheers, Tom

I think it's a j4, but I'm not honestly sure. It looks like an early motor. Would be looking for 150? Not sure what it's worth to be fair so let me know what you think!

No. It's a completely stripped she'll. It is however mounted on a trolly so can be easily moved.

I do have a ream beam aswell, but it's not in the best condition!

Cheers, Tom
