Water Induced Missfire

On the AGBO stages last weekend we suffered a reoccurring misfire when we drove through the ford. The misfire was instant and was like it was running on 2 cylinders, it then went away after about a mile.

The car is a Peugeot 106 Rallye with a GTi engine in, the coil pack is a 1.3 type with HT leads. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?

Are you running standard dash? Any gauge twitches (like oil temp) while it was misfiring?

Presuming it wasn't deep enough to get up to the coil pack/HT leads directly, maybe crank sensor? That's down at the front. The only other thing I could think is a "sealed" connector that isn't, causing an earthing issue... Maybe oil temp/level etc?
