Fired in the new battery this week, the last one was a bit of an eye sore. Also a chance to made a horrendously over-engineered bracket;

Next update has tasty damper content, and more brackets.

Hmm, some new Avo 2 ways;

I've also had a new windscreen fitted and welded in the A-pillar and roof cage brackets as I never done them when I fitted the cage. Just need to get the exhaust back on, tidy out the inside, re-fit the seats, and she's ready to go again.

Was down at Knockhill on Saturday night for a 2 hour track session. It was wet, really wet. My first time doing any kind of track driving in the wet, so wasn't far from setting blistering times, but was great fun.

Couple of laps on video - https://vimeo.com/101339456

Snaps,

Hi Angus, saw the pics from the Viney's MU track evening last night on FB and was pleased to see a Rallye on the track. So had to have a hunt online for some extra info which ended in me reading through your 10 page thread and amazing the amount of work that went into your car. Hopefully I will be able to pop up to the next one and catch your car there. My 106 is 100% standard but going to change to some B8s and faulkner springs and probably leave it at that. Although I do have a Recaro pp sitting in my garage so am tempted to fit that as it is a lovely seat.

The pics are on Matthew Burgess's page and Monster Unit shared a link in case you have not seen them - https://www.facebook.com/monsterunit1?fref=ts

Cheers Soupie, I'm not sure if I'll make the next one, but if I am there come say hi. I had a lot of fun chasing down the M3 and the various Civic/Integras that were there!

AVO's are working really well with me Matt, but I've not really played about with them much yet.

Been fairly busy with the Rallye when I get time, so recently...

Have been looking at a set of new wheels since winter, so I have a better selection of tyre's and no longer having to get the steels re-powder coated every other year. So after seeing the Braid stand a couple of years ago at Autosport, they've been in my mind since. Settled with a set of Fullrace Maxlights, only available in 15x7, then drilled to suit the 106. Tyre's are Yoko AD08R's, and I lathed up my own blanking center caps. Would have been rude to use normal wheel bolts, so got some pornographic spec studs;

In the detail;

After a couple of hot days at Knockhill and the oil getting high on the gauge, I've gone for a bigger radiator to keep the water temps down, and therefore the oil temp down through the heat exchanger. Can never have enough cooling, and should come into its own at the Nurburgring next month.

Also got Tommy's steering arms fitted (massive improvement) and alloy pulley's fitted.

More plans in the pipeline...

Very little, but it all helps I guess. But they look a lot nicer, and won't split in two!

Standard headlights with PIAA bulbs, can't remember what type now, extreme white or something like that.

Had a full day on the Rallye on Saturday, most in prep for going to the Ring;

New lambda sensor fitted
Full nut and bolt check
Trim back the arches to get more clearance for the new wheels
Repair exhaust hanger
Fit new front brakes
Fit new ARB bushes
New brake fluid

Some snaps;

This is one of bushes I was making to bring up the play in the rear ARB, basically the plastic ring goes over the ARB end plate;

Then inside the rear beam cross member;

And to proove I made them!

Simple but effective, also packed in some new grease while I was in there.

Next up was fitting the new front brakes. have wanted a set of these for years, but finally went for them, as they are just porn. Discs are plain Hi-Spec jobs with Mintex F4R pads. There's a massive weight saving with this setup over the 307 brakes I was using, which is also nice;

Banjo to AN3 adapter made hook up to the existing brake lines a breeze;

Oh aye,

Thanks to Mr Muir in generally being very helpful in making me spend money!

Cheers Matt, I got them third hand but unused from a lad on here.

Was over at the Nurburgring on a two day track day last week, it was absolutely epic. Majority of the laps I didn't see another car, and if I did it was a GT3 passing at speed! Definitely far better and safer than doing TF days.

Car behaved flawless, except from the CV's expanding at speed and rubbing through on the underside on the strut, quick repair with glue and tape and we were going again. Handling was on point and felt very predictable and balanced, and I'm delighted with my choice in new tyres.

Next up is Anglesey, got a couple of small tweaks to make before then.

I was recording laps, but I didn't have the spot meter switched on on the GoPro, so you can't actually see outside the car

Well this isn't so much of an update, but a starting fresh post, thanks to photofucket. So I'll start by adding some photos back to this 10 page, 11 year history of my S2 Rallye.

Some of my favourite photos from the early days, starting with the first ever shot;

The amount of time, and probably money I have spent on my 106 is massive, numerous overhauls, rebuilds upgrades and modifications, so to try and summarise;
