Original Known S1 for Sale

With great regret I am putting up my newly spent on and lovely little original rallye.

It has just had a full garage receipted head rebuild, water pump, belts, service, exhaust re-wrap. Just before I purchased it last year the rear beam was done.

It is very well known on here.

I cannot let my front drive kill it.

I live on a farm and the front drive is too low in parts, so the car will deteriorate if I keep on driving it.

It is totally original, with a HUGE file of receipts, photos, history, 137,000 miles, maintained at no expense spared.

Come and look and see for yourself, I need a daily and driving this does it a disservice as it is in such great shape.

Price 2000, just had 700 work done on engine and other bits to keep it up to scratch.

can contact garage and ask them as even they say it si a good one now all work done.

A VERY sad sale....

Car in Sussex.

Smile Photo's

Hello, love the look of your Rallye and even better it looks original which is hard to find these days, I take it that it's got it's original 1.3 engine still and not a 16v conversion? Would you have more photo's for me to look at please. To be honest I've been watching a MG ZR on a 05 plate with 48,000 miles on the clock on Ebay which finishes tonight because I had given up trying to find a nice original 106 rallye, so if you could get back to me as soon as it's possible it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.

It's a lovey car and I miss it. With the money I spent on it and the recent time & money it's had recently it'll make someone a great daily driver. I've also got some photos that I'll send if people pm me as they are fairly recent.
Here's a couple of others. Hope you don't mind Adrian..

Haha, thank you for that.
Yes, the recent bill and bill of parts, all original Peugeot with receipts, original rubber mats, all the brochures, adverts, handbooks from the period make for a huge file now.

It is very sad Andrew, like your new car though...does look like it could handle my drive....do they do a 4wd version? let me know make etc model...

Just an FYI, I and another Person seem to only occasionally/randomly be receiving PM notifications by email, so I will keep checking here.

For those that asked, the last MOT advisory was for N/S wheel bearing, that the only one.

Below is Pic of engine bay with new wrapped pipes, new crackle coated cover after all new head work.

In reply to some questions,

It has had a new original sump as the old one leaked.

Water pump and pulleys were done at the same time as the head rebuild

Brand new original radiator and thermostat.

Cheers..

Don't suppose you would fancy a swap for a clio 172?!

In all seriousness, if i wasnt saving to buy a house I would have this back in a heart beat! For anyone who is interested, I took ownership of it back in 2010 from Rich (Posted above!) and the car had a full head rebuild in my ownership with all new parts, it was very well looked after and when anything needed doing, it got done. I sold it to Andrew with a boot full of new suspension parts (planned to replace all the suspension, but a new job forced the sale) and he not only had the front suspension sorted but had the rear beam refurbished and the front end resprayed with a new bonnet. The car looks immaculate now.

AssortedNuggets (sorry, im not sure of your name!) then took ownership. There was a suspected headgasket or water pump issues after it showed signs of mild over heating and that resulted in a further head strip and another rebuild. You can be sure that this car will be giving lots of trouble free miles to come and will be a real classic in the future.

Sorry for all the photos. Hopfully they will show it has been lovingly cared for over the last 5 years of its life!
Jack

Spent at least an hour doing some man maths to see if it was economically affordable to buy it back.

It's never economical to own a Rallye, but that's not the point. To be honest, I've been doing similar maths as I've got room in the garage to tuck JNB away & not have it as my daily car. How about a time share arrangement?

Away till 12 August, though, yes, in answer, the boot floor has been welded in usual spot and the rear sill/jacking point on passenger side has had / is currently having a great repair, which is actually occurring as I type this!

Upon holiday return, all bits will be solid as as should be...!

Please PM me for a reply as i will have limited access for a while.

OK, back from Holiday, car has had sills welded and sprayed including the most difficult area round the fuel pipes and the boot seam had been welded all by a Peugeot specialist.

One years new MOT as well.

Car available to view next week or the week after.
