Occupation: Fishmonger at Barry Tesco.

-----------------------------------------

Thats the intro to me done

Rightio. Done some work to it so thought I would start one of these!

For a reminder of when I got it...

Silly petrol cap, Broken Mudflap, Exhaust that looks slightly out of place and minor cosmetics.

Bargain price though So couldnt argue as Its all bolt on stuff!

I best get started somewhere though.

------------------------------------------------

First things first, I decided the petrol cap just had to go. No offence to anyone who has them. I just dont like them.

A chisel, White spirits, A bit of rubbing and some lovely Meguires colour Restorer later:

Looks much nicer now IMO.

Next on my list was stickers! Torque Wales ones courtesy of Beefy from Torque Wales, Rallye Register ones from Bonnie from the rallye register.

Ignore the hair, Cant gel it for work

RR stickers.

Oh, And I couldnt resist putting the members taxdisk holder on. Seeing as It had a direct line one, and im not with direct line!

---------------------------------------------

Wheels arrived today They had a few scuff marks around the edges from transportation. But I got them for cheap and discounted so sent them an email. Bianca white paint is what they need. I already have some. So give them a spray. Some before and after type shots of the wheels are below aswell Got to wait till tommorow before I can afford tyres for them though!

Good ol paint.

[Borat] Very nice! [/Borat]

Some of the damage:

Before /\

After \/

Etc etc. Dont want to bore you with pics of every little pic of damage and afters mind

Thanks for looking. Will keep the topic updated

During spraying:

Am probably doing something wrong by leaving one in shade and some in sun or other way round?

A few pictures of my old wheels to show the actual damage to them. They is screwed. Refurb aint the word. Someone must of loved curbs!

I'm cringing just looking at them!

----------------------------------------

Work left to do,

Paint mirrors:

Might just buy some new ones if the paint wont stick. Seems to be they theyre just covers though

New exhaust:

Picture of the welding where mine snapped.

Might have to tilt your head im afraid lol.

And remove/replace these:

--------------------------------------

New number plate surround is needed aswell.

Sorry about the double post. Had too many pictures

Thanks for looking. Ideas welcome

*UPDATE*

Pugsport is fitted. Had to do a bit of modifying to a bolt and the join to the downpipe but its on.

Modifying a bolt with spacers and washers because the hole was too big. New downpipe possibly needed as its probably corroding away.

All in all a good thing Just need to run it in now

get yourself a raceland manifold... well add to the poping and raspyness of the ol' pugsport and give u a bit more power.. (keep the old downpipe for mot tho )

speak to cyb3r on here he can get them for about 130 odd quid (usually 150ish)

steels will looking good get them on there man!

personally id just take the back mudflaps off and leave/replace the front ones... they look nice with them on the driven wheels.. but on the back just shout "Im a piss flap"

and for the love of chirst get rid of those numberplate surrounds :P

Havent got a clue. Was all done up not tight but holding it in place and when we got round to adujusting the centre and hanging it etc *Ping* bolt, Spring, Washer, Nut all still together ended up down by the back wheels. So got a huge bolt and washers to stop it. Has held it in so its all good for now.

80WYA, Steelies should be on next weekend after payday. Back flaps are going when the wheels come off. Cant be bothered taking the wheels off to put them back on to take them off again. Number plate surrounds and new plates are on the list to-do

Curl, Cheers. Yeah petrol cap looks much better standard.

*UPDATE*

Steelies are on! Am going to sheffield later today, my old wheels had one odd tyre and a screw in one. So decided to jump in and get 4 new tyres on the new wheels.

Sets it off nicely now. Can always keep my other wheels as track ones or sell them on whatever.

Pics:

It's all about the Kuhmo's! :P

Still to do -

Remove rear mudflaps.
New suspension, Lowered. Looking at Group N tarmac suspension or possibly the gravel suspension as tarmac will be very hard.
Plus anything else I can think of.

group N tarmac or gravel suspension will be too hard mate. You would need to change the rear torsion bars too. Best stick with road spec stuff Cars looking really good though, keep up the good work

Well, I still have this car. It's been stood since 2011 and was in the process of a rebuild before I got shipped off on projects with work for 10 months of a year. Now living in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Engine has been open since summer 2015... Am I crazy to think I can ship it down here into the garage and get it back on the road? Will need a full rebuild and engine clean now, but would be a good project.

Fingers crossed! As long as you've got all the vital bits it shouldn't be a problem.

Have all the parts (Picky about that!). Just gonna need a lot of engine block cleaning I reckon.

Strip and soak shall be the order of the day and hope it doesnt need honing!
