My not french build :)

After a year of french car owner ship i finally got fed up of replacing gearbox's and problems so i sold my saxo and picked up this corsa 2 weeks ago:

swiftly purchased these two books to read and prepare myself for things to come:

I'm planning small block and boost things may change.. first things first is chassis to handle this...

Tiny Update..

new rims

these arrived a few weeks ago:

this is me fitting them:

damn people having cameras lol!

then picked this up tonights:

well happy it's basically mint!

Rear engined any one??

small update picked up the lightest seat i've ever picked up today lol!
can lift it with my little finger with ease.

and was a bargin.

just some small updates:

cut up a piston to check crown thickness in standard pistons and rod clearence ready to potentialy get some custom ones made up:

not too bad. oe pistons are pretty light weight to be fair don't think they'd take any abuse at all.

today finally got round to stripping coilovers off giving them a clean up as in my haste to get them on, i didnt coat them with grease:

alot better then i thought they would be to be fair
cleaned them up and gave a good coat of white grease and let it set before fitting

all made much easier using compressor mrs got me for xmas lol

just waiting on throttle bodies from group buy then this will take off

hoping for 220bhp +

Corsa's, how dare you

Looks like a good lil project!

I have 2 of those bucket seats, they weigh roughly 3-4kg. I picked them up on ebay for £150 IIRC.

Oh dear too what? The fact that it had a gsi kit on it when i got it. Now has a standard front bumper on it. Guess your just a narrow minded jerk who judges some thing before it's finished. Will be a good track car when done. So got nothing constructive to say then say nothing at all? Seem to be another if it's not the same as yours it's crap.

Yeah you must be.
I don't see anything wrong with this project??
Is it just cos it's not a rallye?? Or because it's not even French??
Look outside the box...

Looks like a great project. Im surprised more people dont use Corsas as track cars, cheap and decent handling and proper suspension all round Plus engines are super easy to swap and you end up with a car alot faster than a 106! Just ask Dave P

I wouldn't turn down a corsa, just my friend constantly goes on about them it drives me nuts! But then he unlike you is just into the show side.

Will be nice to see a track beast!

£40 is a bargain too!

yeah it looks slammed but got at least 50mm left on the coilovers, buh looking into new springs as i'd like to go abit harder lol. Yeah chose a corsa as so cheap to make quick. And there is so much out there tuning wise due to be used so much in rally etc. My car def isn't a show car lol if you saw it it's abit more of a dog buh a solid shell so i'm happy lol. Cheers for positive comments guys.

My mates got a 1.2 twist, certainly got a twist as it runs a 2 litre red top with 185bhp. Looks standard apart from the Cav GSI alloys and the stiffness of the coilovers. Quite a tool. If I can get the 106 any where near it I'll be happy.
