the turbo engine wont be ready for a while yet just want to get it running on a 1.4 ax gti lump for now so i can use it again

the hubs are 405 ones that are machened to fit saxo bearings, to get the box to fit an ax you need a custom mount welding in to the shell, a custom lower mount making up, custom o/s drive shaft making, custom gear linkage rods and a custom clutch cable setup, its not to bad for me as i never pay for labour i do it all myself but to do on another car its big money

on another note thought id have a change from the norm with the colour of the struts lol
new bearings top and bottom (new wheel bearings to go in yet)and new 25mm springs

for the 1st time in 2 years ive started putting bits back on to the car
the front suspension is all back on and working with all new bearing and bushes

and the BE hubs are all sorted and brakes back on

there is a little bit of welding needed in the floor wells but its is 17 years old

and something came up very cheap so i wont have to use the 1.4 as a temp engine untill the turbo one is built, should be a laugh with 100bhp nitrous
I DO HAVE TO SAY IM NOT GAY BUT I HAVE GONE 16V (for now it is only temp)

lol, is it going to like a 100 shot of nitrous? Looks like it's coming together! When do you reckon it will be back on the road?

im still about bud just dont get as much time on tinterweb as i used to, ive left Mercedes and starting up on my own full time so dont get any spare time and ive sold all but 3 of my cars to do it aswell my number is 07776223893

not updated this in a while so this will be a big one lol

the rear axle is all finished and back on the car now
it was fully stripped and shot blasted the rebuilt with new bearings and seals then fitted with polyrace bushes

i also got some rebuild kits from bigred for the rear calipers and sorted them

The 16v is only temp but i couldnt help playing with it so it has a pug sport baffle kit, receland 4-2-1 and my direct port nitrous kit

also managed to get a good price on an innovate with gauge

the paint is all finished (bar the dash bar of the roll cage that need making and fitting) and the interior has started going back in

my BE4 box is all rebuilt and waiting to be fitted, as soon as ive sorted the cambelt on the engine it can all go back in so i can start making a new loom for thew whole car

and the front is now all fitted up with the mounts made for the the rad and intercooler

oil cooler is all fitted up and ready

the filter has gone where the ecu should sit as i will be running DTA on the turbo engine so ive had to modify the 16v loom to put the ecu in the car

also fitted a full set of grp n mounts, had to explain why i want 1 106 mount and 2 205 mounts lol

im not in guildford but about 20 miles away (i used to work for merc in guildford)
i got the TVR speedo as i did a bit of work for an ex dealer to help them out with a few trouble cars they had and it had been sat in there strores for years so they said just take it lol, the HID's were on a zetec fiesta i got cheap and fixed up to sell on so i took them out of it as they wont make much difference to the price i get for the fezzer

and i sold some 106 GTI front struts through a friend and the guy who wanted them gave me the bent ones he had in exchange so he didnt have to swap the brakes and when i stripped them they had the billies in them

yes not updated this in a while

got a new unit so moved her in to her new home

finally started putting the panels back on and marking up for the bonet pins

picked up some chromoly pipe to make a dash bar from as the standard dash is too heavy

aslo made a light weight dash (trial fitted, needs wireing in)

and cut the loom back of all the crap not needed

the pile on the left is all the shit taken out, the one on the right is whats going back in

picked up a few other bits aswell

GSXR 1000 fan

cheap pipercross to put on the temp 16v

also found a TD04 HL18 turbo in the pile of turbo's i have so currently making a manifold to take it as its free

the underside has now been stripped and painted

also finished the brakes

they weigh 7kg each with the bases

and having sold the 16v lump (still got to take it out lol) ive started building the proper engine

as i planed on running the car at the pod in march i thought id better start with its rebuild

ive got the bottom end back from being balanced, it was blanced with the old clutch and flywheel and im glad i had it redone

this is the balance prior to drilling

and this is after

as you can see its near on perfect now so should have no problems reving to 8.5k, the guy who did the balancing said hes built loads of roller rocker 8v engines for raceing and he revs them to 8.2k so fingers crossed it will hold at them revs :?

honed the block and fitted the new ACL bearings with paste so i can fit the crank back in

also received the new rings from omega so got them fitted now just waiting for the woosner rods that should be here this week

also converted to block to run a jp4 crank case breather

then converted my AP release bearing to work in the BE box

also started on the manifold as there is no room for a DP one

still needs finishing but not a bad effort fo 30 mins

waiting for the new design rods to be with me next week and i can get the engine back in and run in
