In all honesty mate, not that good. I thought they were adjustable but they're not.

They work well on saxo's as the saxo bonnets raise upwards towards the windscreen.

I think i'm going to replace them with standard 106 jets again. They fit perfect and work fine but only spray about 5-6in up the screen. I can live with them for now though.

Chris.

Jealous matt

Seriously though, looking good! Keeping it nice and standard, you're mature before your years, I salute you!

Still waiting for Sidey, he's got about 1,000 jobs on. Pain in the ass - I want it back badly, but what can you do, short of pointing a gun at his face and forcing him to do it
He took the ECU to test on a lad's VTS engine to check if that's okay, and he says he's taking the car next week. Fingers Crossed. I'll start a Blog like you have once it's completed. Till then, I'll just look at yours

Update:

Booked in for rust on leading edge of the roof repair & respray all arches on 02/02/09.

Windscreen to be removed before work, and new screen to be fitted after.

Machine polish / paint correction will be soon after, so this thread may be a little dead until then!

Chris.

Well it's been a while since i've updatesd this so here you go:

I've been enjoying many spirited drives in the Rallye and clocked up some miles on the weekends, unfortunately, i only have my phone as a camera, so all my pics are dull:

Today i've also picked up the car from the bodyshop. Work completed is:

4 arches resprayed
rust on roof repaired
all decals removed
new windscreen fitted

Pics:

I've also taken delivery of 4 brand spanker S2 steelies, again thanks to member discount at Simon Bailes Peugeot:

All comments welcome!

Next steps are full detail, fit wheels and fit new decals....

Update! Sorry it's been a while, i've been tied up with VW mods and events, so the Rally has been sat up the driveway!

So far i've re-fitted the 4 resprayed arch extenstions and has my new S2 steels fitted, they've made a heck of a difference alone!

Pics (please excuse cam quality);

Updates to follow: full wash, clay, machine polish, wax (maybe new bonnet / respray), dent removal, interior valet, mounts, service, decals.

Chris

More to come....

bear with me 10 mins

Hoyle

Here's the update, no machine polish or valet yet but i decided to clean the paintwork ready for the decals, and then spent 2 evenings getting them perfect...

I also fitted new GB plates, made at the local Peugeot dealership...

Excuse the cam quality, i only have my phone:

Here's a slightly adjusted image to give more of an idea of the real colour:

Looks great Chris! I did try and keep my rallye standard, I really did, but it was so slooooow, it's alright for you, you can get your speed fix with the Golf! The "valver" as you call it (I hate the phrase grrrr it reminds me of 18 year olds on Kroozin, sorry!!!) is back on the road as soon as I book and pass the MOT. I'll start a Blog of my own soon. He's done a sterling Job on her, Sidey, every little niggle has been addressed more or less.

Yer was going to Hoyle, this could do with an update, your car looked lovely when i came up the other day, get some nice shots of on here so people can see how well looked after your rallye really is now!

And extra bhp from a gear ratio adjustment...i hope you stopped talking to him after this comment and he went away and rethought his entire life! Just like the 1.1 Fiat Punto comment i had off a very silly friend, "iv fitted my Ripspeed induction kit and new Mongoose back boxs, my punto must be good for about 115-120bhp now!" more like 58bhp mate at a push, a good service would have gained more power!

So what's this driveshaft/gearbox/diff problem that kept you from bringing the car out on Monday?

I'll let Chris tell you about that - but it's pure class...

*Ahem* It was the arch liner! The clip which holds it onto the front leg had snapped, so it caught on full lock creating a horrible noise.

All fixed now though. Pics to follow!

Nothing now bro!

I've STILL got a to do list that I made late last year. I must do this during my A/leave week after next.

I've just redone the tappet clearances, and have a to do list as follows:

1. Replace NSF caliper and fit braided lines (parts on the shelf).
2. Renew fluid with RBF600
3. Replace the OS engine mount, due to suspected play.
4. Replace throttle cable due to a snapped outer sheath.
5. Replace front Discs.
6. Paint Bonnet, f/bumper & rear arches (again!)
7. Full service
8. Clean up the underside to see what welding / sealing is required.

Sheesh! How long has it been since I've updated this!

Right, let's get back upto date with things and what's planned for 2011 - this year should see my rallye track prepared, but only to a level that can be returned to standard if need be.

Firstly, things have been up and down for me over the past 7-8months, deciding whether or not to keep the rallye, property opportunities coming up, relationships breaking & forming, other cars..... .....it's been a 7 month episode of eastenders! The rallye was in hibernation from October (Oulton TD was the last outing) and last weekend had a fresh MoT & tax.

So what's been done?

Well, so far just maintenance;

Oil change for Titan Race (silkolene pro S) 5w30 & new genuine filter.
Tappets checked and adjusted.
Ramair filter cleaned.
BM silicone top hose (red, replaced dur to OE part failure).
New caliper up front & fresh RBF600 fluid.
New ferodo shoes.
Prodding/poking at rust to see what we're dealing with.

Mods wise, i've installed:

New 2" pugsport.
Fully stripped interior and test fitted SD 12pt cage.
Also sourced 2 sets of A048's from Mike Nash (cheers mate) & a set of black s2 steels.

Here are some recent ish pics;

Taken by Dunc:

TD at Oulton park:

Test fitting SD cage:

The bumper is off the car on the above pic due to a spare wheel holder failure, where the bracket rusted through and dropped the wheel, taking the bumper with it. The bumper was in one piece, but had broken brackets and broke off the inner bumper. I've now repaired it with replacement brackets and sticks like sh1t , which'll suffice for now.

Updates to follow shortly!!

Hoyle.

Ah I wondered what had 'happened' - that's a first, not heard of the cage dropping off, how fast were you going? Did it hit anyone else (the spare wheel that is!?)....

Glad to see it back in progress to Chris - lovely car.

It was the driver's side front mount, the hole that the cage hooks into rusted and bent, and as I hit some "sleeping policeman" style speed bumps, the vibration finished the bracket off!

Fortunately, no one was behind at the time and i could swiftly and safety recover the fallen components!

Sorry again about not making last night, the plan was to repair the bumper etc, and make my way to the meet but it was cracking on for 8pm by time i was done, and it's a good hour before I even get to Wilmslow!

Fair play Chris, looks like you've had some good fun in this car since I last saw it. Get rid of the spare wheel carrier and chop off those mounting brackets. It looks much better underneath without them

Think of the weight saving too

Cris, I've already decided they're coming off! They'll be gone this weekend!

I've had bags of fun in it! I decided a cage was the way forward, especially after a near miss at Oulton! (lift off oversteer at druids.... back wheel on grass.... slidey slidey.... tank slapper.... return to pits and change pants)

So, my to do list is as follows:

Sat 19/03/11 - Weld in base plates for cage
Fit cage
Weld in exhaust tunnel mount point spreader plates
Cut off spare wheel holder brackets
Fit TRS 4pt clubman harness with standard seat (temporary)
Grind back boot rust, weld plates where necessary - treat.
Re route fuel lines as not to interfere with cage

Hopefully I can get these all done, week commencing this saturday. From next month, I will source a bucket (OMP WRC or similar), subframe & sidemounts and a 3" harness.

There is no deadline as such, other than I'd like to have all of the above done by Mallory. Hopefully I'll grab another bucket for the passenger by then, otherwise I may have to come up on my own haha!
